Wendy's Chili...

OK...I was going through some info I got a while back from my Nut.   In the back it was going through some resturant choices.  I was shocked when I saw a small Wendy's Chili on the list.    It had it listed with 200 cals, 6g fat (a little high),  2.5 sat fat,  23carbs and 17g protein.   I went to Wendy's site and looked it up and found that cals are actually 220, but everything else fits. Has anyone tried this?   Would you try it?    Just wondering....

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa , a lion wakes up. It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Yes, definately.  In fact, it's one of my favorite dining out meals.  We as WLS paitents need that little extra fat.   Robin

Hey Dave, I  have tried it, the first time was about 2 months out and I only got 1/3 of a small in.  Now I think I could maybe get 2/3 of a small in.  But it is good - remembering to chew - sometimes there are chunks of beef!   Even the next day, with a little FF cheddar melted on!

HI Dave, Wendy's chili seems to be a staple in many of our post WLS food plans.   I know it's something I can depend on even now! Hugs, Mo

Hi Dave - Glad to hear you are doing so well.  I never liked chili at all until I had WLS, now I adore Wendy's Chili and I have it at least 3 times a week for either lunch or dinner.  I can eat about one half of a small cup at a time, I sure am a cheap date!!!

The first 6 months post op (other than the first month) I pretty much had Wendy's chili 3 or more days a week!!!!  I love the stuff and it is really good for us!  No worries about the fat content.  A small fills me up!

When I was on a diet without the weight lost surgery, it was one of the things that I could eat.  I'm glad we can have it after the surgery.

David, We're going for protein -- I don't look at the calories too much.  I look at protein and sugar.  The rest of the stuff -- fat calories -- we have to have some fat.  There was a college football player a few years back -- don't remember what college -- but he was so lean -- not an ounce of fat on him -- his body started eating itself.  I never heard what eventually happened to him -- hopefully he started putting some fat in his diet.

Hi Dave, My nut told me I could have it.  I was dying to try it and when I did I didn't like it.   Since surgery I get very gassy with beans it made me bloated.  I just didn't like the spicey taste and it was too tomatoee for me..  (if that is a word) I was only able to eat like less that a third.  the small cup looked huge for me.   lol  I hope you enjoy it!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
