We are buying a house
Okay, so I am going to make a long story as short as possible...
I never thought that we would be home owners. Being military we moved too often for my husband to want to buy. Too many problems trying to sell when we move, especially in some markets. So I had nearly given up when we moved here because houses are soooo expensive. But after much prayer, and lowering my standards some (I never wanted to buy a house where I had to share walls with anyone, ie a townhouse), and my husband having a change of heart (because I left it in Gods hands and stopped nagging him), we decided to look into buying a house. We picked one, put in a bid, it was accepted and today we heard our loan was approved!!!
I am so excited. We are buying a townhouse in Columbia, where we live now (not where I wanted but still its a very nice home in a nice neighborhood). We knew we wanted to stay in Howard county for the girls schools. Stephanie is going to be a senior in the fall and is allowed to finish school at her current HS. Meghan is going to be a freshman so she will have to go to a different school than Stephanie and many of her middle school friends but I figure it's better to make the change now than in another year or two.
We are supposed to close on July 27th so we will be busy preparing for the move. I am planning paint colors and the girls are doing the same for their rooms. Should be a lot of fun. And we will own a home!!! Yay. I just had to share with y'all. Thanks for listening.
Hugs, Robin

It is the best feeling isn't it? We just put our house on the market... Three showings so far. I know exactly what you mean about being military. My father was a 30 year Navy Man. I had to move in the MIDDLE of my senior year from a school I loved in Maine to Italy!!!! Only after many, many years was I able to let it go!!!! Now I look at it as a good thing. Italy, and Ireland are in my heart! Have fun with your new adventure!

Thanks Mo. I just might take you up on that, if needed. We should be having the military move us, if all goes according to plan. Still there might be things we need to move so I'll keep you in mind.

Robin - That is so exciting buying a home. I have a townhouse too and it's not bad at all. We probably make more noise than the neighbors, we have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a 5 year old granddaughter who visits. Good luck with the move. Is you husband stationed at Ft Meade? I just retired from civilian service on the early out program.
