1 week post op , need help
Trying to hang in there I had RNY 6/5/07, I have had a really rough time since I came home with nausea and not being able to eat or drink what that paper says, anyone have any sugesstions I can eat about 3 to 5 ozs. and drink about 16 - 20 ozs. My pouch hurts if I try to do anymore, I am making sure I space them 30 minutes apart. I am tired of the same old stuff already, I am taking most of my meds, havent started calcium yet home nurse says hold off on it for now, having a hard time with popscicles they seem to be to strong and burn my throat, I see my doc on Monday but I am wondering if I am jsut doing something wrong.
Thanks for any help and info.

I don't really have any advice for you other than if you are having problems you should contact your doctor's office and talk to them because each doctor has their own protocol for eating/drinking. Many send their patients home on liquids or a very soft diet for several weeks, while others send their patients home eating 'real' food immediately.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Hang in there. I am just over two months post-op now and trust me, it will get better. I understand about the food choices and my best advice would be to stick with things that you are doing well with even though you would like more variety. I ate more cottage cheese and yogurt my first couple of weeks than I dare even think about now. Most importantly try to increase your fluid level so that you don't get dehydrated on top of it all. I still have a hard time trying to get all my protein in, but it has gotten much better. My nutritionist gave me a sample of a high protein chicken broth mixture made by Unjury which I think tastes pretty good and doesn't have any after taste. There are many wonderful people on this site with really great advice. They have all been there before and are willing to help us newbies out. Good Luck on your weightloss journey.
For my entire first month I only drank room temp water & sipped under great protest champion whey chocolate protien made with soy milk. High in protein. Smells made me ill so I just refused to try to eat. I lived :-) of course I did get in protien drinks.
Dont force yourslef, before too long you will be wishing you couldnt eat
Good luck
