The release requires your signature and your husband will sign as the witness.  It is not as major as it seems.  Basicly, your husband signs indicating he witnessed you signing the medical release papers and you understand the complications assocated with the surgery.  IMO you need your husband to go to this appointment because it will answer his questions, as well as yours.  Take this time and ask all the questions you have.  Encourage your husband to go even if only to get information.  Also consider procedures are usually in place for a reason.  If you think this is a problem or you are uncomfortable with this talk to the doctor. I agree with Aime... Let them know you can dress yourself, feed yourself, and even "wipe" yourself after you go the the bathroom!!! You do not need his "permission or consent" to do anything you know in your heart will help you be a better, happier, healthier person.  If you still need someone to sign for you, I'LL DO IT!!!! Sorry, was a bit strong... But Gee Wizzz... Kristy

Dr. Roe did my surgery and I didnt have to have hubby sign anything. I adore Roe and still see him monthly even almost 4 years post op but I would NOT have agreed to have anyone sign for me! I know he & Dawn are away this week so call Tracey, I am sure you ca get this worked out. Diana RNY 9/17/03 Dr. Roe 360/200/still aiming at 180
