Hi All !! Did anyone watch the new series about WLS? I didn't realize it was going to be a weekly show. In typical Hollywood style, the 19 yo with the body lift was "saved" for last, but I learned quite a bit I think. I'm eager to hear others opinions. I watched the show, it was great.  The young girl looked fantastic.  II wish the best for the man who lives in his bed, I think his name is Allan.   I hope to remeber to watch the show next week.

I liked it and plan to watch next week. A few things bothered me though, they showed Peneope get a consult and then get approved. Most of the time it doesn't work like that, I had to go through a 6 month program. I understand for the show but they should have mentioned it. Also, it didn't show any changes in her eating habits or lifestyle changes like excerise, it just showed her 6 months later drinking. I am almost 2 months out and have not touched a drink yet, for one it's just not good for you. So I don't like how they portrayed her. I feel sorry for Allen and wish the best for him. The young girl looked great, I'm sure this time next year I will be thinking about plastic surgery. I also didn't like how the father and son were bickering during sugery, that would make me so nervous. Overall, I liked it and I hope it puts a positive spin on how great this surgery actually can be,

Hi Mark I did watch the show and I loved it. Finally a show tha showed the good side of this surgery and not transfer addictions and that it is the easy way out. Great sow hope it continues more then it will. Kelly

Good Morning,

You guys made great points. Had this vision in my head of waking up during surgery and giving the surgeons a time out for bickering, but the other side of that coin is two sets of eyes see better than one. Some of us just debate at a higher level. DId I detect Irish/Scottish accents in the father?

The psyche evaluation must not carry much weight -no pun- in Texas either. Penelope received her approval faster perhaps due to the televisions ability to compress time. She certainly didn't seem to be suffering though.

It will be interesting to watch Allan I think. I suspect he will be reborn and his mother will have to accept some changes.

I enjoyed it as well and had the entire family watch along with me.  I thought it would be a good idea considering they are not to keen on the idea of WLS.  I thought it was informative as well as entertaining--a little much with the psychiatrist  though.

Hi there, Yes I did see it and I really enjoyed it.  I set my Tivo to record it for the entire series because I want my husband to see it too. That was an amazing transformation for the 19 year old.   I am anxious to know what happens with Allen the young guy that is bedbound.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I am very curious to see what happens to Allan aswell. Seeing his story makes mine seem so small.

Can't wait to be a loser !!!
