I spoke with kathi today and she told me everything looked good except my Vitamin D normal range is 20 & 30 and mine is a little low 18.  I am to get vitamin D pills now and take it 3 times a week on top of the calcium with vitamin D I already take.  I have to break the pill in pieces. I am scared since I have not taken any solid pills since I was pre-op.  I am to up my dairy intake too.   But thank goodness everything is is at normal range!!   Just wanted to share.   Have a wonderful day everyone. Hugs,

Hi Cira, Good news for sure. The vitamin D low made me remember something my girlfriend was able to do. 10-15 mins a couple times a week out in the sun can provide vitamin D with no pills. I know too many of us over expose ourselves as a rule, but her doc said such a low dose wouldn't do any harm and sure enough vitamin D levels increased.  Hope this helps, Mark, who is often seen lurking in the sugar free aisle.

Glad to hear all is well.  My partner is on 50,000 IU of Vitamin D --one tablet a week for 12 weeks.   Did you call her or did she call you?  I haven't heard about mine yet.

Thanks Nadine, I was really worrying about my results. I had left a message on Nichole's voice mail asking about my results and I needed a new prescription.  So Kathi was returning Nicole's calls since she was out sick.   Wow does your partner have Osteosporosis?   Call early tomorrow so you can ask about it.  They close at 12pm tomorrow.  Did you get your bloodwork done at the Quest lab right there?

No she doesn't -- not to our knowledge.  I think he vitamins she is taking doesn't have enough vitamin D.   I've got to pick up some more this weekend.

I'll call after I get to work.  I'm a little concerned because when I get up some mornings I feel off balance.  I don't know if its low blood sugar or what?

Yes, spoke with Kathi this afternoon.  Protein and Vitamin D are low.  I just ran out of Calcium pills w/Vitamin D yesterday.  I'm going to the Vitamin Shoppe tomorrow and pick up some more plus Vitamin D tablets and additional protein drinks.  So I guess I'll be having a protein drink morning and evening and eat something during the day.  At that rate, I will probably make 200 pounds by the time I go home next month. We just got to rev it up Girl.  Since I'm walking everyday at noon and then work out in the evening with more cardio and toning/strength training I'd better keep up the protein and Vitamin D.  I'm having a soy milk/protein shake right now and that's at least 30 grams.  I'm going to see how this goes for the next couple of weeks and see how I feel.  I may not need to see my PCP at all. I'll keep you posted.

Cira, I'm so glad that your blood work is looking fine!  I'm getting mine taken again next Saturday.  Hopefully it will be as good as your's.  Get in the sun and pop those Vit D pills.  I've taken horse size pills from the get go, no problem.  Not to say everyone will be that lucky!  Take care. Thanks Traci!! Keep us posted I would love to know how your results come back.   I will be getting in the sun every morning and well as for popping those pills girl I am scared. lol  But it is just a fear I have to get over. I never had any issues pre-op with them.  It just makes me nervous since I can get food stuck.   have a wonderful weekend.
