Hypothroidism

Hi Everyone, Does anyone out there have hypothroidism?  I was just recently diagnosed and will need to take synthoid.  I went online to read about the drug and there are a lot of side effects. Thanks Jen

I believe there are some other medications to take for that. My sister and niece-in-law have to take thyroid medicine. They are both doing very well with it. It can even raise your metabolism and help the weight come off easier. I'm real border line on the low side of normal. Even though there are side it effects it doesn't mean it will affect you in that way. Hypothyroidism is also a major cause of depression.

Sorry for the diagnosis. Talk to your doc about all options. I know my ex took synthroid for years. I think he stopped taking it because of the side effects.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism many years ago and have taken replacement hormone for a long time.  What are the side effects?  Can you give me a link to research them?  Thanks

Jen, I have recently been diagnosed with hypothyroidism.  I suggest you take your blood test results and make an appointment to see an endocrinologist (sp) the specialist in these kind of things. I have recently started taking medication and I have no side effects. Brynn F.
