Feelin a little nervous
My surgery is is June 29,2007. I've waited over 2years for this ( laid off ran out of insurance, had to wait a year to be out on new job etc etc) Now here my date is 38yrs away and I'm feeling a little anxious. What if I get the wrong vitamins, What won't make me sick after surgery, will there be complications? Ok I sound like a lunatic! lol anyone out there still in their 1st yr after surgery have any words of wisdom to impart
Welcome to the MD boards. Every question you are asking is normal nerves. Just remember to listen to your nutritionist and Surgeon and you will be ok. They should have given you a list of vitamins to get. Get them before your surgery so they are at home waiting for you. Keep a food journal so you can see what stayed down and what came up so you dont eat someting that makes you sick. I am almost a yer out and it was the best decision I have ever made in my life and would do it all over again if I had to. Keep us posted on your journey and your not alone

to what Kelly said. Some of this is trial and error. You will be guided very well by your surgeon and nutritionist. Initially, keep those clear and semi-clear fluids available. Sugar-free popscicles were the bomb right afterwards.
Best of luck and keep coming by for support.

The love of my OH Family has me humbled!!!!
It's totally OK to have these feelings running through your head. If you didn't that might concern me a little. I remember right before the tech stuck me with the IV he asked me if I was ready and I started to cry! He asked me if I really wanted to go through with this and I dried my eyes and said, YEP! Let's get this party started!!!! It's OK to be scared, you are getting ready to go through some major changes....all for the better though! Keep us posted of your progress and anytime you are feeling anxious or scared, we are here for you! I researched for 1 1/2 years before having RNY and was still nervous and anxious before and wondering if I had made the right decision. Have I? You bet!!!! I have lost 113 pounds in 7 1/2 months, I have a new lease on life and LOVE IT!!!! Take care and I also third what Kelly said!!!

Hi there welcome to the Maryland board!! It is very normal to feel the way you do. We have all been there. I totally agree with what kelly, Aime and Heather has said. Remember you are not alone and we are here to help you out through this journey.
I want to wish you all the best and congratulations on your upcoming surgery.
Hugs,
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Hey Blossom.
Congratulations - you're well on your way.
I am only in the very beginning of my journey and I am scared crapless. I have just started my classes with Kaiser and am becoming very good at jumping through hoops.
While I have only posted a few times, I read this board every day. These wonderful people are very realistic - they don't sugar (is that a bad word here?) coat things - and have wonderful words of wisdom.
