Newbie to the site questions

Well let me start by saying that I am new to this site as well, and I am in the process of getting the approval to have the LapBand procedure. Actually I have had my first consultation with the surgeon and my doctors have all approved. The only thing that I am waiting for is the Physic evaluation. My surgeon gave me a name and number of a lady and I guess I am just getting impaitent now. I left two messages and she has not returned any of my calls. My question is does anyone know of another family therapist in the baltimore area? I am just trying to weigh my options. This is the final step to the process.

Hi Karen and welcome to the MD boards. I didnt like my Therapist she seemed to quick. I was out of there in like 30 minutes but maybe she saw that I knew what I was doing and have been looking into it for a long time so she didnt need to really get deep into the conversation. I would call your docs office again and see if they know of others. Keep posting this is a grea site full of wonderful people and we have fun off the boards too. We are going to Savage Mill's this sunday if you can join us. I saw right before your post they posted about it so ceck it out. Also i have a support group in Crofton at the Crofton Branch Library on Reidel road ( you can go on the website and get directions) The next meeting is Tuesday May 29th from 6-8 p.m. In the meeting room. Right when you walk in the library you go straight and were right there. Hope you can join us

Dr. Sharon Propper is the one our surgeon listed and is the one I used and was covered in my insurance. She has two locations Westminister and Owings Mills. I believe the Owings Mills number is 410-356-3344. Trust me, you want be in and out of there in 30 minutes. I believe I spent about 45 minutes with her and then about another hour or so completing 2 questionnaires. She does these on Mondays.

Welcome to the boards!! I hope you got to have your psych eval done by now. I am sorry I am just getting to read the messages today. I went to a lady name Ranessa McNally in Pikesville.
