Good Thursday Morning!
Good Thursday Morning Everybody!
How is everyone? I'm doing well...just a little frazzled instead of being the ultra frazzled that I've been the past several weeks.
How goes the eating, fluids, supplements, protein and exercise? I'm doing good on all counts but the formal exercise routine. I walk around my building during the day and I always get up in between print jobs instead of waiting until after they all print out. I'm also up and down the stairs at home alot. (I have a split level that has 4 steps up and then 10 steps up to the upstairs level.
Protein News - some of you may remember my brush with the Postal Inspector/Dept. of Homeland Security and the powdered protein sample that broke open in the envelope leading them to shut the postal facility down. The company was sending me a protein sample because they've discontinued the iced tea protein that I had been using. I never did get the samples so I've tried another brand. They are thicker (like a shake), but they taste pretty good. I got them from Susan Maria's site. They're called Whey Gourmet and they advertise "ice cream" flavors. I've been mixing mine with skim milk (with the shaker cup that Susan sells - which is awesome by the way). I got the orange creamsicle, raspberry and strawberry banana protein mix. They all taste pretty good. There is a slight protein aftertaste, but not bad. They don't smell bad either. I also got a 1lb can of Scitec (I think) Vanilla Very Berry. This is okay, but its got bits of real dried berries in it. I don't care for them.
If you're waiting for a surgery date, be proactive. Do all you can to meet insurance requirements. Ask your Dr's office what you can do to help. If you've had surgery recently and you're recuperating, take it easy and just keep sipping fluid and get that protein in. It will get easier. For those who are a little further out, don't try to compare your weight loss to someone else. Just keep with your program and your weight will come off. For those that are further out...if you find yourself straying and gaining weight - get back to basics. Do what you did when you first came home from surgery - protein first and fluids.
Well that's my 2 cents for this morning. I'll try to stop back in here at lunchtime, but I haven't had much time to post on here at all from work the past few weeks. If not, everybody have a wonderful day!
Take Care,
Terry
