Hi Cheryl,
Congratulations on your 25 pounds gone forever!!! That is awesome!!!
I realized that once you make the chicken moist and with liquid it helps to digest. For example never over cook the chicken it will dry it up. I bought chicken tenderloins by perdue and I slice it chicken breast I season it and add water to the pan. I cover it up and let it cook on medium heat and then add onions and green peppers. tha****er in the pan is really good after the chicken is cooked and you put that in that plate to eat the chicken it helps me a lot.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes to you.

Hi Cheryl -
WOW!! 25 pounds is awesome!!! At almost two years post-op, I still have a hard time doing chicken, beef and pork - the denser proteins. I can eat chicken cut up in a salad, but even if I cook it in a sauce in the crockpot, I still sometimes have problems. It just takes time to get to know what will work for you and what won't. Having said that, though, what works one day may not the next, so it's a good idea to keep a journal. You might also try boneless, skinless thighs - they're moister and may work better for you. Salsa is a great lubricant! Helps lots of things, chicken, eggs, etc., go down much easier!
I do a lot of shrimp, cheese, Greek yogurt, beans, etc. Again, it's all a roll of the dice and requires us to be a little more creative than most people.
HTH,
Tia
Hi Cheryle and congrats on your 25 pounds. A good thing to have 6 weeks post op is shrimp and crabcakes. Those were my favs after surgery. Crabcakes are soft and easy to chew. Just bake them in the oven. Chicken didnt bother me but pork did. You will find things that work for you just keep a food journal so you can loomk back and see what did work and what didnt work
