Considering the Surgery

Hi everyone. I am a Kaiser Permanente insurance patient and have started the process for the surgery. I am apprehensive, scared, etc., but my knees hurt and I want to be able to stop taking medication for HBP and diabetes! I have not yet met with a surgeon, but tentatively I should be having my surgery sometime in November. I know I'll be back asking a bunch of questions. Barb

Congratulations, Jamie. How are you feeling? What hospital did you have your surgery done at? I am looking at mid-November, but wi**** could be sooner. Am going in for gall bladder surgery on May 31st. Hopefully, this won't have any effect on the bariatric surgery. Barb

Welcome to the MD Board. I hope that you continue with your WL journey. Fear of the unknown is one of the greatest fears there is, but we have all been there. I was originally scheduled for surgery back in Feb 2005, but let some of my family members get to me and basically scared me out of surgery. I just had surgery a little over a month ago now and it has been great. Since surgery, I am already completely off of my diabetes meds which is the main reason I had the surgery. There are a lot of great people here on the MD board who are willing to help you along. Their advice and experience has helped me a great deal. Keep us posted.
