Back to work Monday
I am so glad to be heading back to work Monday! However, I am worried about how long it takes me to eat. I only get a 30 minute lunch and normally it takes me about an hour to eat something. I have heard it should only take 30 minutes for me to eat something but I like taking my time, sometimes I do forget it's there though, lol. I'm going to take a grilled chicken salad my first day back and some fruit to see how I do. Any suggestions would be helpful and how was your first week back to work. BTW, my job isn't strenious...I'm a supervisor at a public library so most of my day is spent sitting at my desk. Also, tomorrow is my 1month surgiversary....I can't believe it's been a month...this has been an awesome journey so far and it's just beginning
Hi Jamie
I know you are probably so ready to go back to work. I was out for a month and could not wait to get back to work. I was a Nanny so it wasnt to bad. The kids knew I had surgery and had a big scar that I had to be careful. Just take your time eating and if you do not finish, maybe you can nibble on it some more at your desk. You should let them know you have to eat really slow and take your time. You will do fine
Enjoy your weekend and let us know how your first day back is
Congrats on your return to work! I got half way to work on my first day back, and had to pull over after getting really nauseous. Ended up being out an extra wee****il they figured out that I needed to be pulled off of my BP meds (they were only lowered to half after surgery). As far as food and eating at work go, just take it easy. Don't worry about the time constraints, just eat normally, and if you feel like you need to take it back to your desk, then go ahead. I'm sure your bosses will understand... at least for a little while. Good luck and keep us posted!
Going back to work after being off has it's own challenges, but going back after WLS has challenges of its own. I went back to work after only two weeks off. The main thing I tried to do was stock my fridge at work with lots of yogurts, cottage cheese, diced fruits to add to the cottage cheese and a variety of liquids. I also kept a half gallon of milk on hand and just brought in packets of the Carnation Instant Breakfast to add to it. The liquid protein was good to have on hand as well since I could add some to the crystal light. It all sounds crazy, but it seemed to work. I am really glad that you are doing so well. We are only 2 days apart on our WL journey so it has been nice hearing how someone so closet o my surgery date has been doing. Keep up the good work.

Hey there. Hope you have fun going back to work. I know you love to read, lol. I was told that if you can't get all the food in on one sitting. Eat it at the next sitting but do not nibble on it thoughout the day. Just conitune to get your liquids in until the next feeding. My nutristionist at kaiser told me this. She said that it causes some folks to over eat all over again. But she never had the surgery, ha ha ha, so like others say, take you time and, YOU CAN DO IT, lol (From off of the Waterboy), lol crazy dude.
