On Sunday, May 6, at 6:30, several of us (I think!) are going to meet at Tully's on Belair Road in Fullerton to hear Local Traffic, a local two man acoustic band play. I've heard them play before, in fact, a Trooper friend of mine is one of the two men, and they're really good. I think, right now, it looks like me, Heather Mod-E, fresh from Ohio, Heather Mod-I and Floyd, maybe my cousin and her hubby, are set to listen. I don't know if we'll be eating, drinking or both (but never together), but whomever wants to join us - please do! We can celebrate upcoming surgeries, surgiversaries, etc. So if you can make it, C'MON DOWN!!! Tia

How funny! I can't make it because that's right around my son's bath time, and I'll be getting ready for work. But, be sure to tell the singer, Don, hello for me. We work together. Actually, he hired me! Have fun... I'm hoping to make it to Savage Mill on the 20th. Jay

Wow! Small world!!! I work with Bill, the Trooper, and heard Bill & Don play at the Watersedge Festival in Dundalk last year and two years ago at Bill's 40th bday party. Sorry you can't make it, but we'll all get together soon! Tia

Hey Jay - I did say hello to Don for you! He said you're a great guy - which WE already know!!! The Heathers and Heather Mod-i's Floyd were there and we had a great time! Heather Mod-e and I shared a pound of shrimp and there were still leftovers!! Amazing!! I'm going to try to become a regular groupie of Local Traffic (or Eye Candy as I like to call them), so I'll let you know when they're playing again. BY THE WAY, NOW THAT WE KNOW WHERE YOU WORK, YOU DO REALIZE WE'RE ALL GONNA WANT XM SATELLITE RADIO, RIGHT????? HEHEHEHE!! Tia

Eye Candy! How funny! I'll stick to Local Traffic... definitely let me know when they're playing again! Don and I work opposite schedules, so I NEVER see him. and, when I do know when he's playing, I can never find a babysitter. Sorry I missed it, I should have been napping, but instead I did some yard work... pulled weeds, planted a Hibiscus, hung geraniums, and started planning for the veggies I want to plant. Then, this morning, I planted tomatoes and bell peppers, pruned the chives and rosemary from last year, and watered everything. I probably should have waited a week since it's still a little frigid out, but oh well. If they can survive outside at Lowes, they can survive in my back yard. As for the XM... I can give everyone the Friends & Family discount that they offer us employees, so don't be afraid to ask. I don't know how these boards react to links, so just email me.

Yep, they are definitely easy on the eyes!!! But even if they were dog-ugly, they're great to listen to! I will definitely keep you in the loop. I emailed Bill with some venue suggestions this a.m., so hopefully, they'll continue to get local gigs. Actually, as far as babysitting issues, Bill's children were there last night - Tully's has a kid's menu, and you could always leave before Heather Mod-e dances on the table!! Wow! Pre-op, would you have chosen yard work over napping? Isn't it so liberating to do things that others take for granted?? It was a beautiful, if windy, day for yard work. I'm sure you feel good getting all that accomplished. Although I like the look of a manicured yard, I don't want to get dirt under my fingernails and God forbid I break a nail! Horrors!! Actually, I was just kidding about the XM - right now, anyway. Maybe once I pay off my car in November, I'll treat myself. Right now, it's just another expense I don't need!! Have a great day, Tia

The funny thing is that pre-op I was still out there sweatin' my tail off, probably trying to do more than I would now (at least it felt that way)! The only difference is now it takes a lot longer to work up a sweat, but I get it done in a couple of days instead of a couple of weeks.

Hey Kell - I wanted to do the Walk, but it's my Dad's bday, so maybe another year. I'm so glad that all of your dreams are finally coming to fruition. I know how hard you worked for all this!!! Have a good weekend, Tia

I think we sould get a group together for next year and we all can do it together. Yes I am so glad this is coming to the end of the inspection drama and now i can interview. I really did not plan on interviewing or advertising until I had my license in my hand because she said it could take up to 30 days for it to get to me but usually doesnt take that long (thats how long they have to finish the paperwork) so I was afraid I wouldnt be able to give the parents a start date and what if they needed something sooner. But This lady got my name from my husbands co-worker's wife (who does it down the street) and she told her that I just had my last inspection and was waiting for my license. She has a 3 1/2 year old that would go part-time cause she is in school and luckily she is about to pop any day and is looking for a spot in June for the newborn. I will be licensed by June. What a miracle. I was so happy and she seems nice on the phone so they are coming on Sunday to check us out. So today I am getting all my suff in order and all the paperwork that goes with it...lol. I cant wait. I'm sure i will be posting Monday morning about it. That is if I can get out of bed from walking the bridge...lol
