I am post-op 7 years. I am scheduled for a Pannulectomy to remove excess skin in July. I am a little scared. Has anyone out there had one? If so, who was your doctor and what was your experience?

No experience here (yet), but I hear that Michelle Shermack (sp?) at Johns Hopkins is the best! Would be worth a consult.

Try the Plastic Surgery message board. Lots of experience there.

Which Plastic Surgeon are you talking about?

Dr. Vanguri.....he does an upside down "T" so you are pulled tight in all directions. He doesn't just do a panni removal and that's it...atleast when I spoke with him...that's what we discussed!

Hi, congratultions on your 7 years!! That is amazing. I wanted to let you know that I went to a support meeting at my surgeon's office and it was quite interesting because the speaker that night was a plastic surgeon. He brought up some interesting points about the tummy tuck and all the different procedures. he was sayign that when you get a panniculectomy that is really all you get. So if yur belly is loose on top that will still protude if the waist (love handles are visible) then it will be there just protuding. You will not have the pannis anymore but you can have a ridge that shows because that is all the dr takes off. have you looked into the other different procedures. It is always good to make sure your body conture looks good. I saw a lady that posted on the main board that was not happy because the area where the pannis was in all deep and above that area the belly is all out. Just a suggestion. I haven't had any eperience in this matter so I apologize ahead of time. Just wanted to share. Best of luck on your journey. Cira
