Crofton Support Group
Hi - this website is huge. I'm having a tough time finding my way around. Does anyone know when the Crofton Support Group meets again, and where they meet? I am familiar with Rt 301/Rt. 3 - that's about it.
I'll be here more - looking forward to getting to know you all. I am hoping to have WLS - just trying to get my foot in the door right now with a Dr. that takes Medicare Assignment. Have a great day! - Jane
Thanks Mo. Your quick reply made me feel very welcome! I will be in Prince Frederic****il 4:30, and am just not able to drive that far. Sure wish I could! Do I take it that the group meets the first Thursday of the month? If so, I schedule it on my calendar for next month so I'm able to attend.
I live in Northern Calvert County, and my driving radius is about 25 miles. I do come to Crofton every 2 months to see my neurologist. He is about 30 miles, so that's stretching it. But I think I will be able to do the drive once a month - I know it will really feel good to see others who have made it through this process.
Take care Mo, Hugs to you too! - Jane
Hi Jane and welcome to the MD Boards. I started the Crofton Meetings and the next one is this Thursday May 3rd from 6-8 p.m. We meet at the Crofton Branch Library on Reidel Road off of 424 Davidsonville road. Where would you be coming from? If you come from Bowie way up 301 to Rt 3 you will come to a light at 424 and vere to your right then go straight you will pass a Bamk of America on the left and a CVS at your 3rd light you make a left onto Reidel Road and the 2nd turn on your right is the library. You cant miss it. I can get the address if you need it. Glad you can join us. It is a great group and everyone has great doctors they can give you names to. Hope to see you there
Kely
Hi Kely, I didn't realize that my reply to Mo I should have made to both of you. Every support group is just a little different. Thanks to you too for making me feel welcome.
I probably would be coming on Rt 2 to 424 - that is, if I'm not in Bowie or Annapolis for yet another Dr. appt/Treatment. Thanks for the directions, they should work whether I come on Rt. 301 or 424.
I replied to Mo that I will be in Prince Frederic****il 4:30 tomorrow (Thurs) and I just can't drive that far to Crofton. I will be sure to have nothing scheduled for the next one. Coming to the support group will make it feel like this journey has really begun.
If I don't hear anything from Hopkins by the 14th, I will go to Dr Greene's (Shady Grove Adventist Hospital) support group in Rockville (my hubby will have to drive) and that's how you get started in his program by attending that group.
Darn these Medicare "Centers of Excellence" - then Medicare pays so little that no one wants to take Medicare assignment. It has been hard to find a place to go. Anyway, I'll look forward to the Crofton group - I have so much to learn before this dream becomes a reality!
Thanks Kely - Jane
