Well I called my lady today because she is finally back from vacation and scheduled my last and final inspection. Wednesday is the day. I am so super excited that this is the final step. That and hubby cant wait to play with the play-doh. LOL he is so funny. Now I am in full swing clean mode. I have so much to do. She does way more then the fire marshall did. She has to see my handbook and contract wich i did a while ago so I need to go threw that a tweak it and make changes if I have to. I think she will be impressed with what I have done as far as my room I will primarily use. I cant wait to see how many kids I can have and start advertising. This dream is finally coming true and I need to pinch myself right now. I never thought I would be my own boss at 26 and it is starting to become scary also. I thank you all for your support and dont forget Thursday May 3rd is the Crofton Support group from 6-8 p.m at the Crofton Branch Library all are welcomed. Kelly

Good luck with the inspection! Tell your hubby that I LOVE the smell of Play-Doh! In fact, K's recent science fair project was comparing two different brands of Play-Doh. I love the smell! Besides Play-Doh, nothing says Christmas to me like a brand-new box of Crayola crayons! Ahhh! The smell!! You've worked so hard for this, and the children will be SOOOO lucky to have you! KB HATE their before/after/summer daycare, they said the old ladies are mean and yell. I have to admit, I don't have a lot of patience, but there's no need to yell all day! Just makes everyone miserable. Too bad Crofton isn't in Essex!!!! Good luck again - it's gonna be great!! Tia

Thanks Tia That is a great science project. I remember those in school. Cant wait till I have those days with my own kids. I remember making a model of McDonalds....hmm maybe not a good choice for a child who had weight issues. But yeah I can not wait to use all my arts and craft stuff. I remember old ladies at my after school and summer daycares and they were mean and yelled all day long. It's weird i am not a patient person with myself but with kids I always have been and I think that is why I love childcare. Sorry Crofton isnt in Essex but maybe one day one of my centers will be...lol. That is my goal one day to have a center or two but right now I am sticking to my little goal since it has taken this long.

Good luck Kelly. I use to do daycare in Baltimore County and then in Carroll County for many years. Couldn't do it anymore though. aaahhh...to be 26 again. Nevermind, I will just take the grandkids. lol Kidding aside...it is a very fullfilling career. You can really get attached to those munchkins. Just be sure to get some "ME TIME" away from your home...especially in the summer. Sometimes I found that I did not leave my house all week and that can become monotous. Love...Gail

Hi Gail and thank you. So you did home daycare? it is a very fullfilling career. I was a nanny for 2 years and hose 2 kids meant the world to me and still do. I talk to them once a week and Ava still asks when I am coming to pick her up from school. She is 2 and didnt really understand why i was leaving. I have been her only caretaker besides mom and dad and grandma every once in a while. My husband was very comcerened with me getting burned out at home so he is putting his two cents in about my ours and stuff. I love that he is so involved. I will take alot of me time especially now that I am loosing the weight and feel confident to want to go out and do things. Especially shop again it has been so long since I shopped just to do it.
