A Real Scare!!!!

I got home from the gym on Tuesday after a rather tough workout. As I took my shirt off, I felt a lump just below my chest on the right side. I started feeling it and found it was rather hard and sort of oblong. It was just above one of my surgical scars. So I started feeling around and found another one of the lumps. Now this is serious in my mind. I called my wife in and had her feel them. Before I could even ask what she thought, she started laughing. She told me to look in the mirror. I did. She asked if I noticed anything odd about these lumps. Hey..I figure any lump is odd. She told me to look real closely. I did...then it hit me. No kidding...it was my ribs. We both laughed until we cried about it. How cool...it has been a long time since I could feel my ribs. Whew! Dave

Hilariously scary!!!! Glad it was just your riblet, though! I did the same thing with my wrist bone - imagine that - I was like, "WTH is this???" A wrist bone! What an idiot!! But, before I read your post, I was thinking you were going to say it was a little hard lump. I had read about people having hard fat lumps under their skin that previously had been hidden by other fat and skin. I did find one on my side (dr. confirmed that's what it was), and now, if I run my hand hard along my forearm, I can feel a couple. Although you can't see or feel them unless you press on them, still, it's a SMALL price to pay for weight loss! Have a good weekend! Look for more bones....um, wait, that sounded R-rated, didn't it? This is hysterical!!! LOL I had the same experience as well . . . except the lump in question was in the middle of my chest -- that's right, my STERNUM. My physician thought I had absolutely lost my mind LOL. -BJ
