Happy Thursday Everybody! How is everyone today? I'd be doing better if I wasn't making so many typos that I had to go back and correct. (Looking at fingers saying "cooperate would ya?")..hehe. I'm doing pretty good, I've just been busier than a 1 armed wallpaper hanger! Things at work are still going at warp speed and things at home are just as busy. I'm down to the final days getting ready for the big retreat that I'm volunteering on. I know it'll be a fabulous weekend and I'm not complaining, but it is alot of prep work. Eating is going okay - I've been diverging from my eating plan and eating things I shouldn't be eating (sugar, fatty foods, etc.). I'm still getting all my protein and fluids in, I'm just supplementing with crap that I shouldn't be eating. I go tomorrow for my pre-op physical for my lower body lift surgery that's scheduled for the 23rd of May. I just can't wait to get this done - I'm so ready to be rid of the michelin man look. I know I could easily be wearing pants 2-3 sizes smaller if I didn't have this panni....well come the afternoon of May 23rd, I'll be there! Course I don't know when the swelling is going to go down and I'll actually be able to wear pants, but I'm looking forward to finding out! I think the first time I look down and see a flat stomach I'm going to cry. I've NEVER had a flat stomach/never been thin. I'm doing great on supplements/protein/fluids. Not so great on formal exercise. I've let myself off the hoo****il I get through this retreat weekend/my surgery/recovery. I plan to get back to the gym once I'm given clearance to exercise following my surgery. I'm not expecting to get that clearance until early-mid July. We'll see...I can always walk before then. Things are going great with McSweetie, he's wonderful! I recently shared with him his nickname and how he got it. He was tickled. It's kind of a joke now, everything has a "Mc" prefix..he christened my sister's dog (who is a lasa apso (I know I spelled that wrong) *****cently moved in along with my Sis while awaiting the new house to be built) as "McMop". I don't get to post much these days with work being as busy as it is and my evening busy with everything, but I'm trying to pop in here and there. Mo, I hope the uro helps you out. I don't want to see you in pain, but I hope it flairs up so he can see what's going on. I hope he takes action to get rid of the stone. Maybe he'll blast it. So what's up in your world? How goes the eating/fluids/supplements/protein and exercise? Share with us, inquiring minds want to know. Have a wonderful day! Take Care, Terry

Terry McSweetie is a sweetie! and I love the McMop .. too too funny I have to tell you, I got home on Tuesday night .. and was so excited to tell Mr Mo your story about the USPS .. and he had to get all technical on me It wasn't that he didn't see the humor in it .. but he took it all VERY seriously .. I thought it was the IMF in Linthicum that got shut down, but he said it was more likely the point of origin .. where the envelope was mailed. I should know better that to try to entertain him with USPS stories. I'm off now for the CT scan .. I've been feeling ok, but still some 'pressure' so I really don't believe the stones are 'gone'. I hope the CT scan shows enough for him to get an idea of what is up with me! The tough part right now is not 'eating'. I did eat a cereal bar at 4:45 on the way to the gym, and have had a bottle of water that was pretty much gone by 5:30-ish, but they said nothing to eat or drink for 4 hours before the test. ARGHHHH!!! I'm going to mix up a protein shake and take it with me so I can be sipping as soon as they are done with me! Have a wonderful day! Hugs, Mo

Mo, It was the facility in Linthicum that was shut down. When he identified himself he said he was at the postal facility in Linthicum. Almost made it to the point of delivery....hehe. eww...I'm not sure I could go 4 hours without drinking anything, I've gotten so used to drinking all the time.

I'll have to wait and bring this up at dinner on Saturday night then! When we are out with Jeff & Wendy (both of whom are also USPS people), they may see the 'humor' in it even if Mr Mo is a dud!!! Actually, by now he may have heard about it internally. When I mentioned it Tuesday evening he hadn't heard anything about the IMF being shut down. Hugs, Mo

Morning - I pm'd you. Glad to see McSweetie's on the "Mc" kick!!! He is just too darn quiet - we're gonna have to work on that!! I'm still having problems with my little red friend, so I go to see my gyn next week. I think, at this point, I'm so disgusted with everything that I'm going to tell him to go ahead and do a partial hysterectomy/plastics. I checked on the plastic surgeon who works with him, and I'm impressed. It's an all female office, not that that is a big deal to me, but everyone seems really nice. So, we'll see. I really want to wait until after we get back from the beach in July. Like you, I've never NOT had rolls! Can't really begin to imagine what life will be like without them! You're right about the clothes - if it wasn't for my middle and stomach, I think we'd finally be talking misses size clothing. Well, we're trying to get the office ready for an important visitor tomorrow, so I've got to find some place to stash all my junk! I tried to tell the Colonel that if they saw completely clean desks, they may think we don't do anything, but he wasn't buying it. Have a great day!!! Tia

Oh yeah, I forgot that I told Brother about your foray into postal territory. He actually chuckled, but said, "OMG!!!" I have to give you credit, I think at that hour, I would've thought it was somebody playing a joke. Better that you could wake yourself up to give them a coherent answer than for them to come beating on your door!!! Tia

Good morning Terry, I am right there with you in being busy as a beaver. Work is really hectic lately and I am not sure if I am just not organized enough or if its just gotten really busy so I feel like I am not able to stay super organized. Home is busy too but I feel like that will slow down here soon. We have two trips coming up in May so I am really looking forward to that. We are going to New Mexico to see my bf's daughter graduate high school and then to Connecticut to see my husband's family over Memorial Day weekend. My hubby's brother is coming to visit from Germany. about 25 years ago he was in the Army and met and marrried a German woman. Now he has lived over there for almost 25 years. He got out of the military shortly after desert storm. His wife can not leave mom so they have lived there all their lives. It will be great to see him. His wife and boys can not make it though so that's a bummer. My husband is spending about 5 days there so it should be a really good visit for him. Doing much better with my eating, drinking and vitamins. I am going to begin seeing my counselor again, twice a month. I need to work on my bad habit of using food to de-stress or deal with problems. I share this openly because I don't think any of us should ever feel like we have to be ashamed that we still have issues with food. The surgery was on my stomach, not my brain. I know that counseling will help me to be able to learn new ways to handle things that come up in life. I don't want to be addicted to food or use food as my comforter anymore. I don't want those bad habits back in my life. And I need help to make that happen. So for anyone having similar issues with food, it's okay, you are not alone and getting help is not only okay too, it's smart! Enough of my soapbox... I really want to go shopping. I want to buy summer clothes. I like all the new colors I am seeing. And I need new shoes. All of my sandles and slip ons from last summer are too big. I didn't think my feet would get this much smaller. I new they would go down some but not to the point of my toes haning off the edge of my shoes because my foot is nearly going right through. It's kinda funny. Well, I had better get to work. I have a pile of things I want to get done and today feels like a really good day to accomplish them. Have a great day! Oh, by the way, I love the McMop nickname for the dog. Can't wait to meet McSweetie someday. I am excited for you about your upcoming surgery. You will be such a hottie!!! Hugs, Robin

Robin, I think it's great that you're seeking help with the food addiction. I'm also a comfort eater. Have to physically stop myself from grabbing food items at inappropriate times. Then I sit there and have a "one on one" with myself (in my head). I'm sure if anyone could see my facial expressions, they'd wonder "what the heck!". If I can rationalize why I'm wanting a food item, and talk myself down, it's such a good feeling. Sometimes it happens to quick to make sense of it all, and the damage is done. Best of luck. Keep us updated and please pass on any tips that the counselor might have. TraciL
