Protein and The Department of Homeland Security

So....the phone rings at 4:00am this morning...and I'm woke up from what I'm sure is an absolutely fantastic dream. On the other end of the phone is Inspector Blah-de-Blah from The Department of Homeland Security/US Postal Service. Inspector Blah-de-Blah apologized for waking me up, but was calling me to find out if I had been expecting a package of something that would contain a powdered substance. He said the package had been damaged and was leaking a powder substance and the US Postal Facility had been shut down. He said they need to take whatever action is necessary to get the postal facility back up and running. Even though in a sleepy stupor, I knew right away what it was. "Why yes, I had been expecting a package of protein samples" I tell him. He asked me a few questions and I tried my best to get my brain to work. I told him the name of the company, etc. and he thanked me and said he wasn't sure that my package would be deliverable as it had been damaged pretty badly. The lady at the protein manufacturer had sent me two sample packets in a regular postal envelope (with no padding) and when the envelope was processed through the rollers at the postal facilities, it was damaged. So how are you this morning. I'm sitting here drinking my protein (which has been discontinued) which is why the company was sending me samples to begin with - so I could find a replacement that I like. My sister (who moved in with us over the weekend) was like "well I guess this just isn't a sleeping house - my alarm had woke her up at 4:30 yesterday morning)...I told her "hey, look at the bright side, at least the alarm clock didn't wake you up this morning" So, how's your Tuesday morning going so far? Have a wonderful day! Take Care, Terry

Terry While I know this is a serious topic/situation, I am sitting here just rolling with laughter. I can't wait to get home at tell Mr Mo about it. I can guarantee that he wasn't the one who called at 4 a.m. because he was still in bed when I went off to the gym at 4:40 a.m. I just finished my protein shake for the a.m. Have done the morning 'imports' in my own office now I'm headed over to the cashiers area to do what I need to do over there. Then I have a brea****il the armored car gets here and I have the D/C deposit to do. Yesterday was a 'light' day for the D/C, so I know I am going to get slammed today. I am not really a whiz at counting cash so it takes me a while, but so far I've been accurate on the first pass and not had to search for anything. Let's keep our fingers crossed that I can keep that streak going. I even got through the office settlement yesterday without a panic attack . When I took this job almost 3 years ago, my goal was to be able to fill in when we were short staffed but they kept telling me they were ok without me, well .. now it'**** the fan and I do need to help out. We will be in good shape until the day comes that I have to work a window and wait on customers .. then it will be UGLY .. because I'm sooooo very slow!!! Not much else to report here. Staff meeting at 10 a.m. and then tomorrow I should be back to my own stuff. I am taking all day Thursday off because as it turns out I couldn't go for the CT scan today so I've got to get that done on Thurs a.m. before I go to the uro in the afternoon I'll be in College Park for a conference on Friday, then Mr Mo and I are taking the RV out Friday night to make sure everything works before our big trip! Best get back to it here. I'm still wondering WHY the protein folks would send a sample that wasn't padded ??? DUH ??? Hugs, Mo

That is a funny story. Especially the part about the alarm not waking your sister today. Today is a much better day that the past several. I am still swamped at work and trying my best to get a really good system going for staying on top of things better. But all in all I am in a much better mood and not angry with the world anymore. I also feel more in control of my eating again. I am still craving chocolate but I don't feel like I could kill for it. I had better get back to work. I really want to get some tasks done today. So I had better get busy!! Have a great day. Robin
