That depends upon what you were taking before your surgery, your surgeon's preferences, and your PCP. After my surgery, the only new meds I was taking were one to prevent gall bladder problems, and one for stomach acid (plus vitamins, iron, and calcium). I also had a prescription for pain med that I did not need. My pre-surgery meds were monitored by both my surgeon and my PCP, and they worked together on cutting them down to appropriate levels (or out completely) as I lost weight.

Hi Vanessa, Whatever meds I was on before surgery i am no longer on them. My doctor does require that we take prevacid solutab for 90 days post op. I now take my daily liquid vitamins, calcium liquid and my monthly b-12 shot. It all depends on your doctor what he willhave you on. I hope this helps. Cira

I went from taking my "breakfast of champions" , 9 pills a day, to no medications. I was given a script for prevacid which I will have to take for life. They have since put me on a cholesterol medication. That is all.I don't count vitamins as medication.
