did anyone have a heart murmur before having surgery? i went to the cardio. today and he said he heard a murmur. i have to go back for a 2 day test which will be the treadmill and the injection stress test. then in may i will have my echo. i was just wondering if anyone else has this and did it stall your surgery. thanks. tammy

Tammy - No, I'm sorry I can't help you with this. Try not to fret - it's better that they find what they can now so maybe they can fix it. Just stay on top of things and keep doing what you're doing. Hang in there and keep us posted, Tia

tia, and cira, thanks for your words of encouragement. i am probably worrying for nothing or about something that can be easily fixed. just getting a little paranoid that something is going to keep me from getting this surgery. tammy

Tammy, Just make sure to discuss it with DVR and your pcp. See what they have to say. I know this whole process is a pain in the butt but well worth it since DVR is thorough with everything. Big hgs Cira

Hi Tammy, No I wouldn't have any idea. But one good thing is that it is better these issues get found now so that the doctor knows how to deal with your cir****tances. I a sorry I have been MIA the past couple of days. been busy at home with my grand daughter. My hands are full with my 2 and the grandbaby and have tried to catch up with posts but have not been able to. I just read about your results about the LFT being elevated. I really do not know what you should do but know that I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. please let me know what the Doctor says. Big hugs to you! Cira

Me, me!!! My doctor has always heard a murmur, but decided it would be best to get a echo-cardiogram before surgery. Much to my surprise, it was found that I have Aortic Stenosis. A hardening of the little wispy things that allow the blood to flow through the valves. It's genetic. I have to get a echo done every five years. I'm at the beginning stages. Worse case scenario, valve replacement later in life. I'm glad my PCP wanted to be safe. Did not interfere with surgery, and losing the weight will help in the long run. TraciL
