This is not for the weak stomached!!! It's embarrassing, but I wanted to see if anyone could help if they've had this. I've had this happen a few times over the years even pre-op, but it usually lasts a couple days and then is gone. This has been going on for about a week. Thought it was getting better, almost gone, and now it's back again. So here is the deal. I have a lot of rumbling gas in my belly, when I burp (frequently throughout the day) it smells like sulphur (rotten eggs), and I have very gassy diarrhea. Any have this and any advice???

OMG Heaher I have been going threw the same thing. I thought it was just from the protein bars I was eating and I stopped eating them the other day and the past 2 days it has been fine a little gassy but not the roten eggs smell. Try seeing what foods you are eating thats making you gassy and take those out and then see what happens. I wanted to ask this the other day but was a little embarrising but thanks for posting..lol

Kelly, protein bars DO make me gassy but I haven't had any for weeks. It's the rotten egg smell that I'm concerned about. It usually passes after a couple of days, but it's lingering on. Maybe I need to go to a bland diet until it passes.

YOU need help? What about poor Kylie and Floyd???? Just kidding, honey! My tummy rumbles a lot and frequently speaks to me when I'm eating. Although I don't burp a lot, I leave that to B, for whom it's a sport!, I'm always gassy. In fact, last night I had a crab Caesar salad at Jad's (in record time, I might add), and I had such horrible gas that poor Mom kept closing her eyes and lolling her head to the side like I killed her!!! If you haven't already, try Beano or Gas-X. I used to have to take amitriptyline, which knocked me out, but stopped the horrible diarrhea. Prior to surgery, I had IBS w/diarrhea, and it was just like you described. Maybe that's it? If it's not what you're eating, maybe it's some form of IBS - oh, if only I was Dr. Tia. Sorry not to be of much help! Tia

Shoot, seems like since having this surgery I have gas on GP. I do a lot of farting and pooting. I've notice though since I don't have too many protein drinks and try to get my protein from foods -- it doesn't have that often. About twice a day I have to leave my desk and go to the bathroom and cut one -- thank God there is no smell. When my partner eats ice cream and some other foods -- gas attacks her and sometimes I feel like I need to leave home for the night. Sometimes I wonder if this gas stuff will ever pass. I have a bowel movement about once a week and sometimes that irregularity bothers me. But I guess with time all will get back to normal.

Nadine - The gas stuff will pass, but just like pre-op, it may rear its ugly head occasionally depending upon the types of food you eat. Also, the sugar alcohols in sugar free candy give me horrific gas. If I eat more than two s/f peppermint patties, I'm (and anyone in my immediate vicinty) a goner!!! As far as the bm's, once you start introducing more foods, that will become regulated, too! I had IBS w/diarrhea pre-op, so it was nothing for me to go 5-6 times a day. Now, I'm 1-2 times daily, and what a relief that is!! Make sure you're getting in your fluids too, that will help keep you regular. Gosh, the things we have to talk about now!!!!! Tia

You know! Don't let her eat ice cream -- My God --bring out the gas masks. Somebody said they don't have it as much since they cut down on the protein bars and drinks and I have to say since I cut down on the Isopure drinks -- the gas has cut down.
