Well, I must admit to you all that today was ont a good day. Today was a day..that I ate everything in sight (not bad things..but still ate)...Cereal bars (100 calorie kind), some pretzels, crackers, etc. Just food... real bad day... Why??? Well today during school we were put in lock down...a suspected murderer came into the building...and one issue led to another... quite a stressful sitauation.... if you are interested in what seems like a typical day theses days...here is the site... http://www.wtopnews.com/nid=25&sid=1118779 thanks for the friendship... Right now, I could really use it... feeling very alone at the moment...

Awww Daniel...I can well imagine why your day was so stressful. I live in the area (as you may recall) and when I heard about the lockdown at your school I was thinking of you and wondering how you and the kids were doing. Hopefully they'll catch this guy soon! Take Care, Terry

A big hug to you Daniel. I have never been able to accept the locked doors of schools these days. I understand why they are locked, but can't accept it. I am so sorry that you had to go through this expereince today. Somehow our schools have got to become safe places for our students and the staff again. Aime

Daniel - I'm so sorry! Things are so crazy in this world now, and I hate that it touches our children. I have such a deep respect for my niece and nephew's educators - the elementary school that they attend is truly a community unto itself. Please know that you're in our thoughts, you are not alone. Feel free to pick up the phone, too, if you want to hear a friendly voice! These past couple of days, I feel like it's post-9/11 all over again - I don't want to keep watching the tv, yet I can't help it. Scary! As far as eating, compare what and how much you're eating now to what you did pre-op - I'm sure you'll see that it's not a big deal. Sometimes, we just need comfort, and sometimes, ya gotta take it where you can get it!!! Hang in there, Tia

Daniel we are here for you. This week has been such a depressing week. First VT and now a murder suspect just waltzing in our schools. This really needs to stop. Hope today is a better one for you.

Hey Daniel! It's a small world. I heard about the lock down, but didn't realize it was your school. This is a CRAZY world. I'm terrified to think that my daughter will start school in 3 years. It's not even safe to go down a slide on the playground anymore. Hang in there and I hope everyone is coping well.

thank you all for the wonderful support and responses... By the end of day, the stress had just taken it's toll...and I decided that Shadow (my doggie) and I just needed to cuddle for most of the night. He and I just got under the blanket..and napped most of the evening. With all that has been going on the past few days... VT...NCHS...the acid at the play ground in Baltimore... I am just wondering the value of our children...the purpose of teaching..etc.. Just feeling a little sorry for myself...but hay..don't we often deal with that...lol... Again... THANK YOU!!!
