A Rainy Sunday Update...
Well...this weather is more like the beginning of March than the middle of April, but you get what you get. I am really looking forward to weather in the 60's or 70's.
Anyway...had a really busy day getting the girls ready to go back to school after spring break. We cleaned the house and did laundry most of the day.
Yesterday was the first day I actually got in more than 110g's of protein. I am supposed to be up in the 110 to 135 range and it is tough. A friend here recommended Nectar and I really like it. Higher in protein than my AnyWhey and tastes a lot better. But be warned...it is very sweet. I also found that I can get down 1/2 bottle of Isopure (about 10oz). So with the extra protein I made it up to 116 g's yesterday. But all that protein came at the expense of calories. I had over 1000 calories yesterday. When I did the math in my eating log, I was shocked. The Isopures are fairly high in calories.
Now...the good news is that I sort of broke out of a 3-4 day rut where I was hovering around 277-278. I saw 275 this morning. Nice.
Any way. Went to the gym this afternoon and walked 1.75 miles in 20 minutes. Then I did my leg and chest weight routine. I really can't believe how out of shape I am. I have not lifted weights since HS but I thought I would be stronger than I am. Oh well...I just need to push push push (pun intended!).
I have a goal of getting my college ring on my finger before the 4th of July. Before surgery it would not go over my knuckle. Now it goes over the knuckle but will not go much further. I will let you know how that goes.
Hope your Sunday was a good one. Keep your spirits up...before you know it, it will be 90 degrees and hot as heck!
Enjoy,
Dave

I spent a very lazy Sunday .. still nursing the kidney stone(s). I claimed the sofa for the NASCAR race and snoozed through a part of it in front of a nice toasty fire. Fixed Mr Mo dinner after the race and ate a few bites which didn't settle well at all. I think I've FINALLY got it all out of my system now and I'm ready to go to sleep.
I'm missing the gym routine, but until I'm sure I can get through the day without a lortab I am thinking the gym might not be such a good idea. If this goes on too much longer I may breakdown and at least go use the treadmill.
I have to go back to work tomorrow. If I need a pain pill, I'll wait until I get to work and take it there so I'm not driving with it in my system. I figure by the end of the day the effects should be out of my system.
I'm ready for it to be Spring .. not ready for the 90's yet ... this has been one convoluted winter/spring weather-wise. My parents (who live in CT) drove to Stowe VT yeterday for a few days. My sister drove to Burlington VT today in a blizzard. Who would think that in the middle of April there would be a blizzard ???
Take care,
Hugs, Mo
Your family is right up around where my son goes to college. But this weekend, he's in Boston running in the Boston Marathon. I haven't heard from him, but left several messages to be careful with this weather. Dress appropriately, etc. He's an adult now, so leaving it mostly in his hands. Just nervous about it all. After the run, his group drives back to VT. Another scary thought! Everyone keep Andrew and his group in your thoughts and prayers please. Thanks!

Dave, you're doing unbelievably well in reaching such a high protein amount. Your body will love you for it. Weight loss is also worthy of a congrats. You're doing great. Stay motivated about the exercising and make it a "must" during your regularly scheduled day. That's where I flubbed up, and it's a pain trying to reintroduce it. Have a good one and keep up the good work on your WLS journey.

Sounds like you are doing great. I am amazed at the amount of protein you are able to comsume. You calorie amount doesn't sound terrible for a male.
I can relate to the ring issue. My engagement ring is an unusalu from the standard diamond. I love the ring. I haven't been able to wear it for many many years in part to the ending of my marriage as well as getting heavier.
I can wear the ring again. It fits nicely on my right hand even a bit lose these days.
I wasn't aware you were in Reisterstown. I lived there for eons until 2000. My eldest son still lives in Owings Mills. Eventhough his address says Reisterstown, my youngest now lives with me. I will be teaching Driver's Ed in Owings Mills in the evenings for the next 2 1/2 weeks. Maybe we can bump into each other at the Carabou Coffee place one afternoon.
Keep up the great work.
