Disappointing fluke (?) with the scale

Well, my sister and her hubby were here for 10 days and we had a great time. My sis had wls in August and is doing great. We went to DC and into Baltimore for a bit of sight seeing and touristy stuff. It was great seeing her and sharing our successes and struggles from the past year together. I was doing really well with my eating, especially since I hadn't been around all that food in the office. I was so excited on Sunday because the scale said I had lost 4 lbs and was down to 157. Me in the 150's! Well, today the scale is right back up to 161! I was so bummed. I don't think I truly gained 4 lbs in 5 days and the reverse is likely true, I didn't truly lose 4 lbs in 5 days. But I was so happy to be in the 150's. I am really going to have to get my butt in gear so I can get as close to my goal as possible before surgery in July. I continually go back and forth with being okay with my body and loathing it. I still can't find pants in size 14 to fit me, too big through the hips/thighs. And 16's are too big. What a frustrating thing. I am probably going to have to just keep buying 16's and have them altered to fit in the places they are too big. I did miss the gym a lot in the past week and a half. I went back today. I wasn't being totally lazy but I didn't have time to "officially" workout. I am back with a vengence now because I must reach my goal! I was quite pleased that I could walk around DC for several hours and not get tired or sore. I could have kept going when we had to leave. Thanks for letting me vent. I will say that I did wear a size 14 dress that was given to me, for Easter. It fit really nice, could be a little smaller up top (as usual). But I was so happy to be wearing it. I know I have come a long way so I am not too down on myself. It's just that it is getting harder and harder to stick to the plan and get the las 18 lbs off. I know I can do it though!!! Have a great weekend y'all! Hugs, Robin

We all know you can do it, as well.... You are a wonderful example to us and to your family. Your determination will see you through and the 20 pounds will be gone by July. Don't let the daily fluctuations get you down. That is jus****er and and how our bodies store and release it. Glad that you enjoyed your sister's visit, Adrienne

Hi Robin, I am so glad to read that you had a great visit with your sister and hubby! Girl you are doing great and like you said you know that you can do it. Those last 18 pounds will be gone by the expected date. Scales are evil and I have been weighing myself daily. I really need to stop doing that becuase once I see I lost another pound the next day I gained that pound and some more ounces. lol It is quite obsessive to say the least. I might have to ask Gino to hide my scale. Once you get yourself back on track those pounds are going to go for good! big hugs and have a wonderful weekend.\ Cira

In the past week, seeing this doctor and that, my weight has changed several times. I am not going to play the scale game. I am going to stick with my scale and what it said on Monday morning. We women do this fluid thing. Seems we retain it or we don't at any given moment. Chalk it up to being a woman and keep on keeping on.... You can do it!!! Aime

Robin, You are doing great and have lot to look forward to (with the surgery). You know what you need to do and how to get there. Just keep at it. Remember that real life is up and down. Just keep using the tool that you worked so hard to get and things will be fine. Keep moving forward! Dave

Hi Robin - Can't wait until you report on your platic surgery. I'm green with envy and can't wait for mine. I know what you mean about the scale thing, I gain and lose the same 2 pounds over and over again. I'm thinking about buying a new scale !!
