Kidney stone update ....
Well, I definitely have kidney stones (as the PCP said .. I'm a walking kidney stone). I have stones on both sides, but on the right side there is an 'obstructing' stone (yes .. that is the huge OUCHie!!!). The obstructing stone is not so large though so there is still the chance it will pass.
I spent 3 1/2 plus hours at the ER this afternoon/evening. My PCP had tried to get me in to a urologist today and when he couldn't get me an appointment he sent me to the ER for bloodwork and fluids. The ER did consult with a urologist and determined they could send me home. I have a follow up appointment with my PCP tomorrow a.m. and I have to call for an appointment with the urologist.
In the mean time, they gave me toridal (??) at the hospital in my IV, I'm getting ready to take a couple of lortab and go to bed. The pain is not so crippling as it was, and I'm able to keep fluids down which is more than I can say for yesterday.

Awww baby! I'm sorry. I do need to get more clarification from the Endo. He said he has seen more kidney stones with post RNY patients. That is why he wants to avoid certain food items in my diet. Like I said however, some of those things are crucial to our dietary health at this point. As I learn more, I will share.
I do hope you feel much better. Kidney stones is one pain that is .... well you know.
Hugs,
Aime
Thanks Aime,
I've downed a 1/2 gallon of cranberry juice (light version) and that much water also in the last 12 to 13 hours so I'm feeling hydrated.
I guess I will find out more when I see the urologist. There must be a way to combat the stones. I am wondering if those cranberry pill supplements will help. I'll be sure to ask that question, because giving up my protein supplements is not really an option if I can help it.
Hugs, Mo
