well i went to see my pcp today and she gave me the ok for the surgery and gave me the referrals i would need. i came home and got on the phone and scheduled all my tests except for the psych eval. they were closed today. i have to go see me foot dr tomorrow so i will get all my blood work done while i am in the area. now all i have to do is wait for the dates of my appts. and of QUIT SMOKING. this seems to be harder then i thought. my dr gave me a perscript. but my insurance doesn't cover it and it is to expensive for me. going to call her tomorrow to see if she can give me something else. btw. when i went to see DVR on march 14th i weighed 330 and when i got weighed today i was 324. i haven't been avoiding any foods except sugar but i just don't eat the amount i used to. plus i started eating alot of salads. although i went to moms yesterday for easter dinner. i should have stayed home

i ate so much i was miserable for about 2 hrs afterwards. well i think i have kept you guys long enough so will talk to you later. have a great week everybody.

Hi Tammi - I wish you the best of luck concerning the smoking. I quit a year ago March.. And it was hard to do. I used the patch and was very determined and that worked for me. I know of people that are using the prescription. In this county, the Health Dept. will give it to you for free if you have a prescription from your doctor, so you may want to check into something like that. I think they just have to go to a meeting or something once a month. Best of luck, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find a way to do it!~

Tammy, that so good reference the pre-surgery weightloss! It's amazing what portion control can do. Best of luck with the smoking. The Doc should be able to prescribe you something else. The Health Department idea sounds really promising too. Keep us updated. TraciL

traci, yes there is a big difference with the portion control. i called the dr today and told her what was going on but haven't heard from her yet. if that doesn't work i am going to try the health dept. idea. tammy
