First Day Back To Work...

Hi All, Well, first day back to work after the operation. I will be 4 weeks out on Thursday and everything is going great. It was fun coming back to the office. It was almost like the first day of school. I spent most of the day clearing the 700 e-mails and filling people in on the last 3 weeks. But I did actually get some work in. It was nice to get back to work. I was really starting to get bored at home. There are only so many movies and episodes of Mythbusters I can watch! I am walking between 2 and 3 miles a day (2 outside and 3 at the gym on the treadmills). I have my 1 month appointment on Wednesday (had the blood drawn for my labs today) and should be cleared for some more extensive physical activity. I have an appointment with a trainer at the gym on Friday to set up a routine to help meet my weightloss and fitness goals. She did not want to set that up until I had been cleared by the surgeon. I really am looking forward to working on some equipment beyond the treadmill. Hope everyone had a nice Easter or Passover. Enjoy, Dave

David, Congratulatiuons - I too am back to work today - but I work at home, and worked 35 hours last week - just unofficially. I was 3 weeks last Friday - and am doing well. Glad to hear you are doing well... I am down 26 pounds in 3 weeks. I have not been bored, at home, partially because I been sorta working when I felt like it... and resting when I didn't feel like working... best of both worlds. I find I have to eat VERY VERY slowly - or I seem to get the hic-ups and must be getting air trapped. This is difficult for me, I have always been a fast eater - or gulper when drinking... no more... that is for sure!! -J-

Thanks Jeffrey, I am really glad to hear you are doing well. I understand about the fast eating thing. Every once in awhile, I will be trying something new that is very good. I will eat too fast and pay with some rough chest pains. I just look at it as the "tool" in action! Have you started exercising yet? It has really helped me a bunch. Keep up the good work, Dave

Dave, Yes, I am walking **some** I have taken the dog, and gone for some nice walks - on the warm days. These past few - that were cold and overcast - seemed to depress me, and I couldn't get motivated to go. I expect that as the full spring weather hits, we will get back to the routine - of 2-3 miles. -J-

Congrats Dave! It sounds like you are doing great! I am hoping to get the OK for work when I see Dr. Li on Wednesday - Mythbusters and every DVD I own are getting old!! I am inspired by the amount you are exercising! And a little jealous - your activity level has just become my goal!!!
