As I reported some time ago three of us were let go from a store in Ocean City MD the other gentleman and I were lucky enough to find other jobs that actly will pay us more. But the truly sad story is a lady that has worked at the store for 25 yrs and is now 83 yrs old but still can work. they did not ask her back and it is heart breaking cause she looked forward to coming to work every summer. I believe it gave her something to live for. But the new owners did not like her and she was not ask back this year. Her name was kitty and she worked up on the second floor of "Edwards Store" right on the boardwalk and division street. I know she misses being there she called and wanted us to all get drunk and go beat them up, she is a very strong will lady who was tuff but you had to respect her. We tried talk her into working somewhere else but she will not go for it. she did put alot of hard work and sweat to help make that store what it is. her son died of cancer last year and she now lives alone.

Better yet. Here is the web address for Edward's Store, http://www.ocedwards.com/ . Copy and Paste and see the pix of the store's employees and Kitty is there all shiny and proud. We can ban together to not visit the store and better yet get all of our friends, on and off this forum, to write their own messages to the new owners. They will be bombarded with a ton of emails. Here is their email address: [email protected] Below is a copy of what I wrote to them: "I am infuriated that you cannot see the worthiness of hiring Kitty for the 2007 summer. She has been a fixture at Edward's Store for over 20 years and many vacationers return yearly just to shop and visit with Kitty. Not only did you do a disservice to her but to loyal customers from previous seasons. Maybe you could review your policies and rehire her, otherwise you won't be seeing me, my family or any of my friends."

Thanks Adrienne! I will be emailing them too. I saw Kitty's picture and I just can't believe how great she looks for being 80 something. It sucks when people do not value good workers like Kitty! hugs, Cira
