Heding to Ocean City

I'm packed, got the kids, got some protein and ready to go. I also brought along a pair of horse blinders, so as I'm walking the boardwalk, I will not see Thrashers Fries, Candy shops, Chocolate covered bananas, pizza, Lemon luv, Bull on the Beach, funnel cakes, Fishers Popcorn, etc. This is going to be hard, but I'm trying to look at the trip as a "social" one, not an "eat all you can" one. We're not bringing any munchies, and I've already informed the kids, the snacks they want come out of their spending money. This should cut back on munchies quite a bit. We have a hotel with an indoor pool. That will be nice. We also have plans to go to the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum, rent bikes for the boardwalk, kite flying, taking our time investigating the boardwalk, and possibly Assateague Island on the way home. Have the camera, will get pics and will post later. Enjoy the rest of your week, and I'll be back Saturday morning. TraciL

Hey Traci - Have a wonderful time! I think you'll be so excited at all you CAN do - walking further, fitting into rides that you may not have before, etc., that the food won't even bother you. You also may find that the foods don't appeal to you as much now - 6 Thrasher's completely satisfy me now, where before I could do a medium bucket all by myself. Now, it's more of a quality vs. quantity issue - hopefully, it'll be that way for you, too! You can still get a lemonade at Luv's - just add Splenda! Also, all the candy stores offer s/f, but most of their products are made by Asher's, which I don't care for, so I'd skip it! Also, at Bull on the Beach last year, I ate pulled pork BBQ, minus the bread. Same thing with the crabcakes wherever you go. Just my opinion, but if you've never done Ripley's before, I wouldn't waste my $$$!!! I had done it years before and swore I wouldn't do it again, but last year, K begged for it, and we did it, just for her - NO MORE!! Old, musty, etc.! But whatever you do, have a great time! If you get up to Edwards, I think it's on North Division Street - visit Glitter & Gold Jewelry right next to it - that's where I get most of my jewelry, and the owners, Patty and Beth (the goldsmith) are awesome and completely know the business! traci, have a fun and safe trip. never been to ocean city myself but heard it is wonderful. have to go one of these days. i have been to myrtle beach and had a great time. hoping you have good warm weather while you are there. looks kind of cloudy and cool out today. now off you go!!!!!!!! tammy
