Good Morning, Remember Me?!?!?!
Good Morning Everybody!
I'm sorry I haven't posted much since getting back from vacation. It just seems like I hit the ground running and it hasn't let up. I am looking forward to seeing everybody tomorrow. I hope I don't embarrass myself too much with bowling...I might roll the ball the other way..hehe.
Things have been hectic both here at work and at home. Work is busy, busy, busy. That's a good thing. Always better to have stuff to do than to be looking for stuff. At home, things are hectic as we prepare for McMom's surgery next Friday, April 4th. They are putting a tissue expander back in and soon she'll be on her way to Dolly Parton-ville...hehe. Just kidding, she's not aspiring to Dolly like dimensions, but she wants to feel "normal" again. She's handled all this amazingly well, but then again she's an amazing woman and an exceptional Mom Things are going great with Mark (AKA McSweetie). We've been seeing each other 2-3 times a week. The time we spend together goes so fast and the time we're apart goes so slow. I recently found out that we're getting a new pastor at church, so that begins another round of activities that I'll be involved with. I've also been busy with getting things together for a spiritual retreat that I'm working on at the beginning of May. Weeks of preparation go into this event (various meetings, craft projects, and an additional "dry-run" weekend retreat for the team of folks working on the actual retreat weekend). I'm also active in my community association and it's been a busy time of year for that as well. I've also been dotting my i's and crossing my t's for my plastic surgery. I'm having a lower body lift on May 23rd. Part of me is more frightened of this surgery than the RNY. I'm just not looking forward to the recuperation period. I am looking forward to not having that "michelin man" look around my waist and abdomen. The eating/drinking/supplements and protein are going great. I still have not made the time for exercise.
For those new to the board - Welcome! Stick around, we try to be helpful and supportive of everybody. For those struggling with food issues after months after surgery (i.e., head hunger, etc.) don't give in to it. Just drink more water and remember how it felt when you were first post-op. Try to get back in that same mind-set. For those recuperating from surgery (Cira and Wanda (not sure of anybody else)), I hope things are going great for you - make sure to get your supplements, fluids and protein in! For those who have just started this journey, don't give up and don't be discouraged by a little hurdle like a 6 month supervised diet. The end is well worth the means! Okay, I'm off my soap-box...hehe
Well I gotta run and get some stuff done before lunchtime.
Have a great day everybody!
Take Care,
Terry

Hi Terry,
I am so glad to read that you are doing great and Mcsweetie is still hanging in there strong yay!! I am so proud of McMom she is definitely an amazing woman and I know she is just going to do great with her surgery on the 4th. Please post an update after her surgery so I don't sit here worrying myself to death. ok?
I want to wish you a wonderful time getting prepared for the retreat.
By the way how did it go meeting McSweetie's family a couple of weeks back. He I might be a little behind but I don't forget things. lol
Thank you for thinking of me it means the world to me especially when you barely have time for yourself.
I hope I am feeling good enough to pass around tomorrow to say hello.
Have a wonderful day and great weekend.
Hugs,
Cira
