Hey everyone... I am scheduled to have my extra skin removed on April 19th at Walter Reed... they do not do a full blown tummy tuck. Last night I had a telephone consult with Dr Agha in PA he is Dr Hurwitz's partner.. the dr that does the full body lift. After talking to him I really think this is the way to go... he said he would do it in 2 procedures. The only bad thing in my mind is that I have to go out of state to have this done. Well ok the price is also a bad thing.. it is not cheap. Has anyone had this surgery done by this group? Help... I need to decide real real soon, I need to cancelle the surgery on the 19th if I decide to go this way. I am sure wish I could join your wonderful group on Saturday but we have plans that I can not get out of. Thanks for your help and support. xoxooxoxxoo Denise

Hi Denise I have not gotten to this part and probably wont for a while. If you are having second thoughts then I would cancel and go see other plastic surgeons. If you can make it to the support group meeting I am sure you can find some answers or comfort in your decision. It is Monday April 2nd at the Crofton Branch Library from 6-8p.m. I wish you the best on your decision Kelly

Hi Denise. It's always good to get a second opinion. Talk to Dr. B at your pre-op appt. If you aren't 100% then I say put off the date with him until you can consult with the doc in PA. It's your body and you have to be sure you are doing what is right for you. I think that in the end you are the one who should be happy with your decision and so you need to explore all of your options to find what works for you. I wish you the best how ever you choose. Be sure to call me after your appt on the 4th and let me know what Dr. B says. Have fun in VA. Hugs, Robin

Denise There was one girl that used Dr. Hurwitz...I wish I could remember her name. She even posted her before/after pics. I know she lives Waldorf, MD...try to search for her on OH using that info. What I can tell you is that her results were nothing short of a miracle! He did a fantastic job...and money well spent if you ask me. Tanya

Hi Denise, I am scheduled to have a lower body lift May 23rd. I don't know what you've "got left" following the weight loss portion of this WLS journey, but just having a panniculectomy (removal of skin) would not be enough for me. I have heard amazing things about Dr. Hurwitz and I even considered traveling to Pittsburgh to use him. Since then I've opted to use a Dr. here in the Baltimore area that I trust and who is local in case there are complications. Not that I'm thinking there will be, but just the thought of having a surgeon 6 hours away if complications did arise. I'm a little surprised that Dr. Hurwitz's associate is talking of doing a full body lift in two procedures. I thought that was their claim to fame - doing it all at one time. My doctor explained to me that in her practice, she doesn't have a team of other doctors so that procedures can be done simultaneously so I'll have a full body lift in two sessions: First she'll be doing an abdominoplasty (fully tummy tuck with muscle tightening) with the scar going completely around my abdomen. I'll also get a butt lift with autoaugmentation (where the utilize flaps of existing tissue to help build up the buttocks to avoid "flat butt syndrome" and also a thigh lift (with scars in the groin, not down the inside thigh). That surgery will take a full day. Later on (possibly late fall or next spring, I'm having a BL (with possible augmentation) and a brachioplasty (arms). I guess nobody can tell you what's best for you, but I can say that after looking at pictures, I didn't think I'd be happy with anything else but a full lower body lift. I hope you make peace with your decision Take Care & Keep Us Posted! Terry
