Iron

Hi all, I am required to take iron supplements, 325 mg. Do any of you take this amount and know where I can find them? Thanks, Wanda

I am required to take 2 325 mg pills a day and I get them from sams club.

I have had to take them. I went to Walmart and got Feosol. They are 325mg each. I had to take 3 a day. after a while i stopped. next week i have to go for an endoscope & colonoscopy. my iron and hemoglobin are so low. i have blood in my stool and once thay get that under control i will go to a hemo specialist to start iron infusions. Hi Wanda - I became anemic because of the period from hell after wls. Initially, when I couldn't swallow pills, I took the Bariatric Advantage chewable strawberry flavored iron - found it at my local Epic pharmacy. ICK! I couldn't stand the grit - and they tasted like strawberry blood!! Once I could swallow pills, my surgeon's office told me to take Vitron C, which is ferrous fumerate, which we absorb better than sulfate. I found that at CVS and Walgreens. Check with your pharmacist, they're a good resource! Take care, Tia

Wanda nothing worked for me...I was always anemic pre-op even...early 2005 had iron infusins and now take Solgar brand gentle iron (iron bisglysinate- which is best for postops by most information availabel) I get it at a local heath food store but if you call solagar they can tell you who has it..1-877-SOLGAR 4 ...BTW everyone I recoomend them too & takes loves them ( I should buy stock ) My labs have been great ever since Good Luck Diana RNY 9/17/03 Dr. Roe 360/200/Still aiming at 180
