WOULD YOU...........................
I would do this again in a heart beat. I am one of the lucky ones and there are many many of us who had no complications, no sickness, no fatigue, nausea and lastly death. I have lost over 100 lbs in just under 6 months. I feel good and the few days of discomfort is just something that comes with the journey. You do what your told, follow your doctors orders and everything will go well. Yes Indeed I would do this again without a second thought.

Kendra,
I've started to respond to this post 3 times and backed out without hitting submit. Not because I wouldn't do this again but I don't know how exactly to say I would have surgery again in a heartbeat!
WLS has given me back my life. I am 3 years post op. I am now 57 years old (was 54 when I had my RNY). I don't know that I will live any longer but I will certainly live more fully.
I've never had a problem with fatigue or energy. I do have a problem with sickness, but that is me. I have a pouch that is extremely picky about dense foods and if I eat the least big too quickly or don't chew thoroughly enough .. or try to eat something too carb-y .. my pouch goes into REJECT mode. It's a small price to pay for being able to enjoy my life.
It took me 2 1/2 year from the time my PCP first suggested WLS for me to decide that I was ready. It was a decision that was not easy to make but definitely not one that I regret.
Best wishes as your WLS journey continues.
Hugs, Mo
Hi Kendra
I would do it in a heartbeat all over again. I have lost 144 pounds in 9 months and I fell better then I ever have. Still have more to loose but it has been great. I only got sick a few times in the beggining when I was put on solid foods. I had to learn to slow down when I was eating and thats why I would get sick. But it only happenes once and you learn. Mostly when I would try to eat Pork Chops is when it would feel stuck and I would get sick and now I do not eat them. I wish I had done it sooner but I was 17 when My doctor brought it up and thought I was to young and could try it on my own. i was 25 when I had it and felt I was much more mature to handle it. I wish you he best of luck on your WLS Journey. Any questions dont hesitate to ask.

I'm 100% sure that I did the right thing by having WLS....my ONLY regret is not doing it sooner...like 10 years ago
Everything we do in our lives is associated with risks/benefits...you have to weigh the odds and make a decision that's best for you. Just remember that you can't take care of your children (or anyone else for that matter), unless you take care of yourself FIRST
