3 year checkup
Cira's post reminded me that I haven't posted about my appointment on Friday. While I would like to plead the 5th on it, I really need to post ...
The 'bad' news is that I am up 12 pounds from where I was in April 2006 when I had my 2 year check up (and that was up 8 pounds from my lowest weight) .. so I am up a total of 20 pounds from the low .... BUT there is GOOD news ... even though I was up in pounds I was down 1 percent in body fat so that is a positive sign. My 5 a.m. trips to Big Vanilla are working!!!
Since I am one of the 'fortunate' patients who can't eat any quantity (I still say that after 3 years .. 5 bites and I'm pretty much done with a meal) ... my weight gain is definitely attributable to the quality of what I eat. Because I have a tendency to get sick ( my pouch rejects a lot of stuff even now) I eat things that I know will stay down and those are not always the best food choices. While I can't eat 'bread' I can eat crackers, and I can't eat fries, but can eat mashed/baked taters .. not much of them but I can . I am aware of what I am doing, now I just need to work on NOT doing it !!
I have the orders for my lab work, I've got to call the PCP's office to schedule that. I have to say I am diligent about my vitamins and my calcium so I am not concerned about the blood work .. but it does need to be checked JUST in case.
I have to admit, even though the weight is up, I feel better physically than I did last year .. definitely a tribute to adding regular exercise to my life ..
I am ever grateful for the friendships I have made here on the Maryland board and the fun things we do together. I hope to be here to celebrate all your triumphs in the coming years and give you support when things are rough. If not for you I would not be who I am!
Hugs & smoochies,

Hi Mo!
You are doing really good, despite the weight gain. Exercise is a huge player in this game. And you already know where you can improve with your eating so you are well ahead of the game. I have to say that exercise is making a difference for me. I haven't lost any weight in about 6 weeks but my clothes are getting baggier. Today's outfit is way too big and I already had the pants altered once. So I am losing inches even if not weight. That is encouraging. So I hope you are encouraged by the fact that your body fat is down. Keep it up. You will see a difference!
I love this board too. Y'all keep me goin'.
Hugs, Robin
