Update on my follow up visit also considered the 1 month visit.
There are other ways to get fluids in sweetie. Tea, hot chocolate, popscicles, broths, and on and on. Oh yeah- I don't like ice water either. I think the bad taste demon leaves after a few weeks. At least it has for me. Keep some sugar free mints around also. Want me to come walking with you after work?
20 lbs.... woo hoo !!! you are on your way!!!!!
Smooches,
Aime
Cira,
First, 20 pounds, woohoooo!!!
I hope you can find a calcium that you can tolerate. My nut has me on Citracal calcium citrate pills, 600mg with vit D, twice a day. I don't start any supplements until next week. I have had no problems taking pills so far, so I should probably do ok.
Watch your step, feel better, and sip, sip, sip.
Take care,
Wanda
Cira -
Well, after the scare you gave all of us, I'm not sure what you could do to top that, but a 20 pound loss is a start!
I'm sooooo glad you're on the road to recovery - even if it takes you a while, I know you'll get there. I understand about the room temp water - it took about a year before I could drink anything cold. But I can't really do plain water, it makes me nauseous - I have to add the Walmart brand of Crystal Light.
Hopefully, that "not hungry" feeling will last a long time for you. Actually, I find that even now, as long as I'm compliant with my fluid and protein intake, I'm never actually "stomach" hungry - mine is more of the "head" variety - which is a lot tougher to deal with!!
Keep taking care of yourself. I know you called last week, but I was in the doctor's office and couldn't get back to you. I'll try to call from home one night this week.
Smoochies,
Tia
Cira....so glad you are finally feeling better. What a scare...but I am not going to let it change my mind on my surgery with DVR because I really like him alot. I hope you will do everything you are suppose to so you can be feeling yourself very soon.
I go on 4/18 for my 2nd weigh in for my 6 month supervised diet. I lost 5.5 pounds the first month but I don't think that is going to be the case this time. Everyone said the time would go fast and they were right. How long before your surgery did you start having all your pre-op test done? I had to have an endoscopy because I have GERD. That is the only one I have had done. I had the sleep study awhile ago and I do have severe sleep apnea. I am using a C-Pap. I don't think I will have to do that one again...thank God!
Take care and sory I didn't post anything earlier but I have been very busy the last couple of weeks.
Your WLS friend....Gail
ps---when my husband had angioplasty years ago by a wonderful doctor his vein was nicked and he was bleeding internally so I don't think this kind of thing is very rare.
