Hike Maryland
This is something I've thought about for quite some time, and hopefully there are others out there who also have an interest. My family and I are going to Hike Maryland. One hike a month, different locals. We live in a beautiful state, and since having surgery and losing the weight, I now have the physical ability and the want to start checking it out. I will pick an area and post the details. Just email me privately with any interest or questions or ideas. Here's the 1st hike:
Date: Saturday April 14
Time: 10AM
Place: Oregon Ridge Park/ 13401 Beaver Dam Road ****eysville, MD 21030

Rain Date: Hopefully the weather will always cooperate, but if not, we'll assign a rain date.
A little park info -
The largest county-run park in Baltimore, Oregon Ridge is 1,000 acres of outdoor entertainment. The huge hill used to be popular with skiers before newer resorts arrived, but the park is still a favorite for hiking, climbing, running and hang gliding. There are picnic and play areas and a large amphitheater where the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra performs in the summer. Rock concerts are also held throughout the year, hosting such past performers as Eric Burdon and the New Animals and WAR. During the fall, the annual Walthers Grassroots Music Festival gets park goers grooving. While musicians sing and play, hot air balloons soar high above. The Oregon Ridge Hot Air Balloon Festival features colorful balloons that take over the sky -- watch out for the big pink flying pig. -- Stacy Noyes (Photo: Courtesy of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra)
We'll keep the hikes kid friendly and not too physically demanding. I look forward to hearing from anyone who wants to join us.
TTFN!

Hey Traci
What a wonderful idea! I love Oregon Ridge! Unfortunatly, I will be driving home from vacation that day so keep me in mind for the next one!!! I'm more game to do different things now than before! Have a great rest of the weekend and hope to see you and Sue at the group on the 2nd!

Don't forget about us down here on the Shore! We have some beautiful parks and recreation areas. Tuckahoe State Park near Denton, MD has wonderful trails. We horseback ride there, but you can hike or bike them as well. There are also several DNR preserves as well as beaches. Let me know if you need any info on this area. What a great idea!

Hey Traci! I just spotted this post. I'll have to check my calendar and see if I can make it. Any idea if these hikes would be Kylie-friendly? I don't want to carry her and not sure if the paths are stroller friendly.
btw, if you can would you please email me a file of that cute pic from bowling? My email is [email protected]
