Hey everyone ... Denise here..I have not posted in a very long time. I am having a bit of a problems and thought this is the best place to get some help. I had RNY on 11-3-05. I have lost 142 lbs, I am scheduled to have my extra skin removed from my stomach(the military does not call it a tt) That is the only procedure they will pay for. Every day I get more and more depressed. I try to talk to my wonderful husband but... we all know unless you have the same problem..no one can really understand. Thanks for any help... I really could use it right now. xooxoxox Denise

Hi Denise - WOW!!!! 142 POUNDS IS AWESOME!!! Having said that, I can so relate to your depression as it relates to wls. Please, please, please, feel free to pm me or post away your concerns here. The more you post and read here, you'll find that we are a very supportive group. We have fun together, laugh together (and often, at each other!), cry together, vent together, etc., and there's always room for one more!! Again, hang in there - it would've been soooo much easier had they been able to operate on our heads AND our stomachs!!! Take care, Teresa (Tia)

Hi Denise! I understand the frustration you are feeling. After working so hard to lose weight and going through so many changes, the physical results are both wonderful and depressing. It's great to lose the weight but depressing to see what our bodies look like afterwards. I know that when I look at myself I am most of the time very happy. I am healthier than ever and I feel great both mentally and physically. But I am not at all happy with all of the sagging skin, loose fat that covers up all the great muscle I have worked so hard to obtain and the very deflated, unflattering boobs. I am two sizes larger in my hips/thighs than in my waist and top. Buying clothes is fun but also frustrating. I know that every pair of pants I buy will either be tight through the thighs or have to be altered ($30 for each pair) in the waist. Same with skirts. I can't buy anything together, such as suits because if the bottoms fit the top will be too big. I can't just buy any kind of dress, it has to be A frame so that it fits up top and flares enough to go over my hips. My husband is turned off by my boobs. He is still attracted to me and happy for me because he loves me for who I am, not what I look like. (he proved that by loving me at 300 lbs) He loves the way I look...in clothes. I am not at all sexy in pretty lingere or night clothes because there is no kind of support to try and fake having boobs. I hope that someday I will be able to fix the damage I have done to my body by allowing myself to be so overweight for so long. Until then I am going to love myself, be kind to me and work the clothes I have and buy to help me feel good about the way I look. So, be kind to yourself. You have achieved so much in the last 17 months. You look great! In the picture of you and your daughter, you look like you are the same size as she is. You are both tall and thin!! It will take time to get things done. Keep pressing Mrs. Hill and Dr. Bonnecarre at WRAMC. I am praying that everything will work out the way you want! Hugs, Robin PS. I am not really busy this weekend. We can talk tomorrow if you are around. I am going to try and hit some thrift stores in the area. I need summer clothes!

I know what you all mean about not being happy with your body. Even though it's only been four months for me, I have lost 65 pounds and my boobs are so sagging, my belly looks like a deflated balloon and my hair is falling out by the handful. My face is falling and everyday there are more wrinkles. My health is good, but mentally I am so down. I wish I could eat something really good to make myself feel better. .
