Rough Night....

Dave, Hang in there! I agree it was easier to be round the food and smell it than it was to prepare and serve it. Of course I felt so bad that I didn't want to eat much for the first few weeks. But as I started to feel better...it was really hard some days. I didn't cook a decent meal for my family for about two months. I did the bare minimum and didn't care if it was good or not. I didn't prepare ANY of my favorite meals for months. One time we were out getting a passport for my oldest daughter. It was taking a long time and the family was getting hungry. My youngest daughter asked if they could go to McDonalds for lunch when we were done. I looked at her and said "Oh sure you all can go eat McDonalds while I am starving over here". She just started cracking up at me and said "hey Mom, you wanted this." She's right, I did and do want this. I also had to laugh at myself. That was a turning point for me when I stopped grieving over the loss of food. You may grieve for awhile. It does get better though. You can do this!!! Hugs, Robin

Hi Dave, I am so proud of how great you are doing. I know exactly what you are going through. I am here home alone with the kids today for the first time in 2 1/2 weeks and I was so tempted to eat my kids food. I had to walk away and take deep breaths! You are going to do great and I am so happy to read your posts. Big hugs to you Cira

Hi Dave, Congrats for not taking that step to put the food in your mouth. I have not had the urge to eat anything until just a alittle while ago and I and a forkful of spaghetti pop into my head for some reason. lol Keep resisting, Wanda
