I'm going to hijack this thread and post a reply. Definitely easier - physically! Initially, it's also easier mentally. You're excited about the change in direction that your life has taken, and energy abounds. It's during this phase, that you need in incorporate exercise into your daily life. You want this to become habit and stick with you, whether you want it to or not, for the rest of your life. Check Mo's posts out. She's been a real motivational force in the exercise arena. I wanna be like Mo!!! They say it becomes fun and you miss it when you don't do it. I haven't quite got to that point yet, but still hoping. Best of luck! TraciL

I guess in a way its easier because I now know that when I exercise some weight is going to come off. Plus getting to see the changes that are taking effect in my body. Since I'm back at work -- we have a fitness center downstairs and during my 2 10 minute breaks and lunch -- I can take at least five minutes during my breaks and work on my biceps. I really want to work on those and to be able to do them in increments throughout the day will help. The cardio I can do at the fitness center in the apartment. When I first started riding the bike I only did 10 minutes and after the first 2 or 3 minutes I thought I was going to die --well my legs thought they were going to die and I was like come on -- they operated on my stomach and not my legs. But 10 minutes nets 3 miles on the stationary bike. I'll do cardio this evening --which will be within the next hour. I only live 7 and half minutes from home.

Nadine, you are doing so well and you sound so optimistic and ready to work the program. Good idea on taking the exercising a little slower. You'll get there! Keep up the good work. TraciL

Hey Nadine! You go, girl!!!! Sounds like you're doing everything right - my only advice would be to maximize this time - it goes by so quickly!!! Also, CARBS BEGET CARBS!! If you can avoid doing so, you're better off not opening the carb door!!! I'm so happy for you - keep up the good work and keep us posted! Tia

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and encouragement. Tia -- them carbs is staying a long way from me. I think the appetite suppressant my primary care put me on -- I did that almost a year before having the surgery -- well anyway -- not only did those meds suppress appetite -- it changes your appetite -- to more meat and veggies. I could go to Five Guys and have those french fries and not blink an eye. After I started on those meds, french fries became a thing of the past -- I couldn't eat those things and didn't care to order them and the same goes for any other place that served french fries -- I was satisfied with the burger. I miss my burger -- but it'll be okay. Maybe now I'll just do veggie burgers -- I did veggie subs so why not! Well off to get my ride in for the day. Ya'll have a good evening.
