Hi, everyone my liquid protien diet starts tomorrow. I have to do this until my surgery which is April 5th. I have to drink protien shakes, eat protien bars and eat chicken broth...Im so afriad Im going to be hungry and blow it. Did anyone else have to do this before surgery? Im fine with the stuff I have to eat and drink, I actually like them but I want to keep on track as best as possible. Im going to NYC on Saturday and my best friend is getting married next week so I do plan to cheat a little maybe have dinner in NYC and eat a piece of wedding cake. Any advice on keeping sane??? LOL...I know it will be worth it....I can't beleive my surgery is just 14 days away!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jamie I didnt have to do the liquid diet at all until after my surgery. Why do you have to do it so early? I have never heard that. Well best wishes on your journey and keep us posted and let us know how you are doing. The losers bench is waiting for you. Kelly

In the paper work my doctor gave me it states the same for me also. I guess that is for better view of your organs and to get you in the right mind of what you are going to do afterwards. Good Luck!!

Keep your eye on the prize! You'll do fine. My only suggestions are to keep busy - mind, body and spirit! When that comfort food is taken away, chaos abounds. Also, stay away from the naysayers. When you go to your events, concentrate on the socializing with family and friends, and try not to let the food be your focal point. Let us know if we can help any. Good luck! TraciL

I have seen others say that had to do a liquid diet prior to surgery. I didn't have to do it until afterwards. My birthday was 2 days before my surgery so I defintely had a few treats ahead of time. Just don't over do. Aime

Hi Jamie, Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery. I did not have to do a liquid diet prior, just had to eat 'lightly' on the day before and do the bowel prep thing (yuck!!!) I agree with Aime, don't over do it on the 'slips' off the liquid diet and you should be fine. Hugs, Mo

Hey Jamie - I'll echo what everyone else said. You may find that you're so excited about the upcoming new you that you won't be too hungry. Drink lots of water - it does help keep you full and you'll have a head start on the post-op way of life. Good luck, keep us posted and have a blast in NYC! Teresa (Tia)
