I just talked to Cira
Hey All!
I just talked to Cira and she sounds very tired and groggy. The nurses are giving her pain meds every two hours so that is keeping her pretty sedated and out of the major pain. Please keep her in your prayers that they don't have to put her back in for surgery. DVR seems to think that the blood will re-absorb into her system and they are keeping an eye on the fluid in her lungs, treating her for phnomia(SP?) Can't ever spell that word!!!!
She also wanted me to tell the 'newbies', ones getting ready to have surgery or are thinking about it that she feels terrible that you are reading these posts about her complications. She doesn't want it to effect your decision. Her complications are not from the actual RNY, that part went perfectly. Her poor care of the night nurses was from the hospital being short staffed, it was outside care that she had those evenings...but her care now is TOPS! She has zero complaints and her nurse is there before she even needs to buzz. I told her that we all know the risks behind having this surgery and it's not good that she has had this happen to her but she is in DVR and God's hands and we are all praying for her. Also, her name is Cira Ayala-Saget, that's what she is under at GBMC. She doesn't know how long she is going to be there, DVR said they are taking it day by day.

Thanks for the update Heather,
I will continue to pray for her and know she will be ok.
I didn't mean for her to feel bad about my posts and my reaction. I do not hold her responsible for any of my feelings. Please pass that on to her.
I am using the same hospital as her and I am having my husband stay with me overnight. Just in case the night nurses pull the same stuff with me. I do hope that someone from her camp has made the hospital aware of the problems that she had.
Thanks again for the updates,
Wanda
Hi Wanda,
Please don't feel that way. Cira was just concerned that people would get worried. You should voice your concerns, fears, etc. That's what this place and we are all here for. I may have written it wrong and I am sorry for that. Cira is such a kind soul and has a heart of gold I think she puts others before herself and worries about others. I think that is just in her sweet nature.
Take care of youself, continue to post about what you feel....it's a good thing!!!!! I'm glad your husband will be there in the room with you. I didn't have anyone with me and it would have been nice at times. Plus he can get on the staff if they don't behave the way they are supposed to!!! Have a great day!!!!

hey everyone, sorry i haven't been on for some time but have been fighting that stomach thing that is going around. the baby i watch at night had it then i got it and now her mom has it. anyway i am sending all my prayers for cira's speedy recovery. i really wish i would have checked the post wednesday to find out about her situation because i was right down there that same night for my informational session. maybe i could have slipped in and seen how she was doing. even if it was for a second or two. i feel bad for her. hopefully she will be up and getting her strength back in no time. sending my thoughts and prayers out to her and anyone else who is having or have had their surgery recently. tammy
