CIRA UPDATE - GOOD NEWS!!!!
Well, like all of you, I've been thinking/worrying about our sweet Cira since Gino called me last night. I spoke with him again later in the evening, and they were still thinking blood clot and still running tests.
Just now, Gino's number popped up on my cell and I said, "Hi, Gino," and lo and behold, IT WAS CIRA!!! She got good news from DVR just a few minutes ago - NO BLOOD CLOTS!!! NO BLOOD CLOTS!!!!! NONE, ZIP, NADA!!!!
Apparently, her spleen was bleeding (don't know the cause, and she was too looped to ask, but she will), into her stomach and the blood and fluid was backing up into her lungs. She's in considerable pain, on Dilaudid every two hours. She said DVR said that the spleen will "resolve itself." So I don't know how long she's going to be in the hospital, but she will keep me posted. It doesn't sound like she's completely out of the woods yet, but she's getting there. She said they did another leak test yesterday and there are no leaks from the rny, and she still has every confidence and faith in DVR; he was there with her until late last night and again first thing this a.m.
So, thank God!!!! I'll keep everyone posted as I her more from her and/or Gino.
Thanks,
Tia
Thanks for the update. I just got the message that she was in the ER last evening. I am still praying for her. I imagine she and her family were scared beyond belief. I know I would have been. Please, when you speak to her again, let her know that I am praying for her. If there is anything else I can do please let me know. Maybe I can go visit her on Saturday, if she is still in the hospital. Would you be able to tell me where she is and how to get there?
Thank the Lord, no blood clots!!!
Hugs, Robin
Hi Tira,
I just talked to Cira a few minutes ago. She sounds so much better; but is still in a lot of pain. They are keeping her in bed; with lots of meds too. We need to pray for poor Gino as well; he is having a very difficult time holding up under all of this.. Gino has tried to be brave for Cira and the children; but he feels all alone and frieghtened.
I am so glad it wasn't a blood clot; Cira is a marvelous soul.. Thanks, Judy R
Thanks, Judy!
You're absolutely right, Gino is going through this as well!! I did tell him to call me if he needed anything, but I think the thing he needs the most is rest. Hopefully, things will calm down now for a bit. I'm sure the babies are crying for their Mommy, they were upset when she was in for her rny, so I'm sure he feels pretty helpless all the way around.
Actually, now that I think about it, we should probably take Gino out for a drink!!!!
Thanks again,
Tia
