Piercings???

Hi Everyone, This is my first time posting! I am nowhere near surgury, yet, but I was wondering if anyone who has had surgury had any piercings?? I have 13 and I am REALLY attached to them! I understand oral piercings are a choking hazard and metal will be a problem if they need to defibralate(sp?). However, what about fishing line or acrylic jewelry. Anyone?? Thanks! Mandii

Hi Mandi What is Fishing line? I mean I know what it is in the fishing sense but for piecings. You will have to take it all out for surgery. Especially oral piercings. You can always get them re-pierced but they will make you take them out for surgery. Kelly

Mandii, Technically piercings are attached to YOU! hehe You have not worries. They'll make you remove anything you have on your face or in your mouth. I guess it also depends on the doc too. Some may just have you remove anything on or in your mouth or nose because of the intibation tube, etc. It is only for a short while. It's worth it in the end!

Thanks! When I say fishing line, I do mean like what is used for fishing...as long as their is a hole it can easily be tapered up. I just need the hole, because re peiercing threw scar tissue is a big deal for someone who easily keloids like me. However, I would do anything even give up my piercings in order to have gastric bypass. Thanks again! Mandii
