Any news on Cira
I tried to surprise her yesterday when I went to get my B-12 shot. I guess it was thoughtless to think her real name would be what is posted. I asked for her room and it wasn't located. I knew she was in there somewhere....don't think they would let me wander the halls calling out Cira.. Cira Where are you? at 8 am.
Saw this on the main board -
-Hey guys, I talked to Cira this afternoon. She had her surgery yesterday morning. I think the actual surgery went okay. However, she has had a really bad experience as far as care. I am not sure I know the whole story. However, I know she waited 3 1/2 hours after pushing the nurses' button before she got help yesterday. Anyway, it has been a rough couple of days for her. She hopes to go home tomorrow. However, I believe it has taken them some time to get her oxygen level back up where it needs to be.
Please just keep her in your prayers. I know she would really appreciate it!!!
Vicki-
Hope she's doing ok! Can't wait to hear when she is home and posting.

Hey Aime -
The Heathers and I were going to visit her last night, but when I called yesterday afternoon, her daughter answered and said she wasn't up to talking on the phone, she was in quite a bit of gas pain. I figured if she wasn't up to talking on the phone, she definitely wouldn't be up for visitors, so we didn't go.
BTW, I ran into the same thing you did - patient information couldn't locate her, but I knew she'd be in Unit 48, so they transferred me to the nurse's station, who transferred me to her room. I was thinking Cira Saget must be her porn name???
She called me around 6:15 and when I told her I couldn't find her, she said that she forgot to tell everyone that Saget is the second part of her hyphenated last name!!! She told me the first part (it begins with A), but sorry, for the life of me, I can't remember!
Anyway, she was still in considerable pain from the gas, and when I told her walking would help, she said her potassium was low (they had three drip bags lined up for her), and that she became very faint when she walked, so walking a lot was not an option. She also said they were going to wait and see if she could go home today. I know DVR's not going to send her home if he doesn't think she's ready. I'm shocked and sorry for her that her care hasn't been great. Although I have to say she's the second Unit 48 patient that I've heard that from. My care, back in 8/05, was wonderful, although I was much more mobile than it sounds like she is, so, had I not been able to get a response, I would've walked out to the nurse's station. This is unacceptable - I told her to LAY on that call button. I'd be pushing the thing every 2 seconds.
The good new is, her leak test went fine and she was on liquids, but having some issues with that, too! Poor baby!!!
When I talk with her today, I'll update again.
Thanks,
Tia
Thanks Tia for updating us. Poor things. I know about poor service. I wasnt to happy with my nurses either particularly the evening ones. but I laid on my button and I know I was pushing theres but that is there job. If you talk to her tell her I said hello and I am thinking of her and hope she gets to come home soon. I know home is more comfy then those hospitals.

Tia,
Thanks for the update. I too thought about going to visit her on yesterday and then I remembered I didn't know her last name and just decided to wait and see if someone posted anything.
When I was there my biggest issue was getting them to close the door when the nurse or aid left the room. I didn't want to hear all the conversations coming from the next room or the sound of someone flushing a commode -- drove me nuts.
On the for real, sometimes I think they forget. My second night I was up walking around and asked for some tea. I told the aid as well as my nurse Rosa and went to bed without the tea. About 4 AM the aid came in to check my vitals and I told him I'm still waiting on my tea. He said he came in the room and say all the lights out and thought I'd fallen asleep and didn't want to distrub me -- I thanked him for being considerate but told him I still wanted my tea. Since I was awake I did some walking around. The gas is no joke -- for sure. I couldn't differeniate as to what was gas and what was pain so I presumed it was gas. They had to put me on potassium drip as well and Wednesday afternoon when they checked my oxygen level it was down and I was back on the oxygen for a little while.
When I was discharged I actually had to walk out on my own and so did another patient because it was taking the people so long to get there with a wheel chair. Sad to hear the service she is recving is sub par -- we should all call the nurses station to see what's going on. I received a survey from the hospital and I need to complete and send it back because I have a few things to say about the people that work in the family room.
