Welcome Jennifer! I am also a lap-band patient. It seems like most of the Maryland people are RNY. So it's good to add another lap-band friend. If I can help you in any way please let me know. Best of luck to you and Congratulations.

Hey Beth! I don't think I've seen you on here before! I'm a band patient (9/14/06). Have you been to any of the group get togethers? We have a LOT of fun! I'm working on the next one for 3/31 - going to Dave & Busters for bowling!

Hi Jennifer! Mo is right, I'm excited to have you with us! I'm the ONLY current bandster in the MD group! All my RNY girls (and you lurking GUYS!) are the BEST, but it's nice to have someone who knows EXACTLY what you will experience with the band. We are a lot like the RNY patients no matter how much some band people don't want to admit it. There is a lot of animosity between band and RNY patients on the boards and there is just no need for it. We are all here for the same thing; support, weight loss, and success! There are a couple of girls that have been lurking who want the band and Kali ("Kalisomer") is scheduled to have her band placed soon so there will be three of us shortly! I used to live in Laurel (Spring House Apts), but now I'm up in Rosedale/White Marsh. I work in Columbia though. If you want to talk just email me at [email protected] or on the MD board or if you like you can email me and I'll give you my cell phone number!

Heather you are so correct. I couldn't tell anyone anything about the band. Makes for a well rounded forum.

Thank you guys so so much for the warm welcome! I hope that at some point I can be able to get out of the house and make it to the get togethers. (I have 6 kids and my husband works 2 jobs, and I work from home, so getting away by myself is a rare thing indeed. I don't know whats going to happen when I go for the surgery, LOL I told him I wasn't finding a babysitter or anyone to help him with the kids this time it was all on him, LOL)

Hi Jen - Welcome! This is a great bunch of losers!! My brother thinks it's hilarious that I call these friends losers, but they are. And also warm, funny, caring, supportive, etc. Please, by all means, jump on here frequently and feel free to join our get-togethers!! This truly will be the best gift you can give yourself!
