Hi there...
I am new to the board - I posted on the RNY board before I found the MD folks! It is so exciting to see so many who are near by and who have had similar (if not the same) experiences!
I am fortunate in that all of my pre-ops went well, very few hitches, and insurance improved me the first time around. I started the process in January and my surgery is tomorrow at Sinai. It's been such a whirl wind that I haven't had time to get nervous, just very excited...but everyone asking if I am nervous is making me nervous! :-P Has anyone else gone into this with similar feelings? I love Dr. Li and am very comfortable with her as my surgeon, my TP is in support, and I have tons of friends who are here to help me when I come home this week. Obviously there are risks, as there are with any o ther surgery, but I am too excited to get this life-long tool to be nervous or worried!
Hi Caryn -
Good luck! We'll be waiting to hear from you when you feel up to it! Just remember, be compliant, sip, walk and then sip and walk some more. The walking really does help with any gas pains.
It's completely normal for your emotions to be on a rollercoaster - this is a life-changing decision you've made, but one you'll never regret. Have a great ride!
Take care,
Teresa (Tia)
