My Social Life....I Have One That Involves a Man! WooHoo!!
Hi All,
I've been absent from the boards because I've been working from home and it's just been crazy. I'm back in the office today so things are more "normal" although busy. I've had a great week...actually a great couple of weeks (since meeting my friend). We met on match.com and we sent emails back and forth for a few weeks and then we progressed to almost daily phone calls. We met face to face on January 29th and he gave me a single yellow rose. We're having a great time and we've been seeing each other every 2-3 days. We talk on the phone almost every day. Our plans for Valentine's Day got postponed due to the lovely weather so we went out last night. He picked me up and presented me with a small bouquet of lavender roses (my favorite!) and we went out to dinner and then a movie. Then we went back to the Cheesecake Factory and he actually let me buy cheesecake to take home (he won't let me pay for anything, this is something totally new, I'm so used to paying my own way). So we took our dessert home and ate it with McMom. I got the 6 Carb Cheesecake, it was so good (as always). This man is so nice and he treats me very nice. We have great conversation and when we're just sitting there quiet, it's not awkward at all. He's a romantic and I like that - he'll send me "thinking of you emails addressed to "princess, sweetie, sweetheart, snow bunny, etc..." I think if I wasn't on the receiving end of them, I'd be a little nauseated...hehe. I kind of have to keep pinching myself because I had just about given up on meeting someone. I'm not sure how serious this is going to get, we'll see. He did cancel his match.com membership because he said he wasn't interested in meeting anybody else and he didn't want any distractions between us. It's kind of funny, we were originally matched last spring, but he was pursuing a relationship with someone else so when I got brave and "winked" at him, he sent me the "thanks but no thanks email". I've gotten them before. The difference with him is that he followed it up with an email to let me know that it wasn't that he wasn't interested it was just that he had started seeing someone else and wanted to see where that would go. When that didn't pan out, he was in the midst of buying a house and moving, so after things settled down after the holidays, he winked back at me and that's when we started communicating again. So I asked him recently, so aren't ya glad you answered the wink? He said, "Shoot, if I would've known what I was missing, I would've told the other woman to get lost back in May". That made me feel good. He says I'm the first person he's felt really comfortable with in a long time. We'll see how it goes, I just know that I'm really happy right now just getting to know each other better. You know how we're all cold after losing weight? Well he makes a great hand-warmer!
Have a Great Day/Weekend,
Take Care,
Terry
Oh Terry,
You have made both my face and heart smile today! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It sounds like he is a really great guy. I am glad you are having so much fun getting to know him. And a hand-warmer to boot...who could ask for more. In my case I love the fact that my husband is so warm blooded, I need him as a heater these days!
Have a great weekend.
Robin
