Happy Valentine'sDay to you!! I got to stay home and go back to sleep today!!! I am supposed to go have a mammogram today, but I don't think it will be a good idea to venture out today. I have battled the smoking demon for eons. Talk to your doc about a new product called Chatix. I did stop for the surgery, but started again. I am now taking Chantix. I have noticed a lot less anxiety regarding cigarettes. Worth a try. My insurance covers it by the way. Smooches everyone!!! Aime

Happy valentines day to you too I can tell you first hand how hard it is to quit smoking. I smoked for almost 10 years. When my surgeon told me I had to quit, inside I was laughing so hard at him. But he told me he would not do the surgery if I did not. I wanted it so bad that I spoke to my doctor and she prescribed me wellbutrin. I think because I wanted it so bad that it worked and have been smoke free for 8 months. I have my occasional craving when I am stressed or do certain things. My mom and stepdad still smoke so it is hard to go over there house but once I do and smell it, it turns me away. I never believed people when they said it stinks but now that I dont I can smell it. Plus I got tired of coughing all the time. I will take time but you can get thru it. Hope you have a great day Kelly

Hi Tammy I actually stopped smoking a number of years ago (November 91), but I did smoke for 27 years before I finally quit for good. I can understand the difficulty in quitting. When I quit in 91 it was after I had surgery with anethesia. I had more discomfort from the trac tube than from the surgery. That was enough to get me to quit. good luck with it! Not smoking will help with your recovery!!! Hugs, Mo

Happy Valentines Day tammy!!!! I a, so glad that you are making an effort to quit. The sooner the better so it doesn't delay your process with the surgeon. I think the Wellbutrin is the best bet for you since it will be covered by m & m. Please make an appointment with your PCP asap and talk to him or her about the options the ladies were talking about. I am super proud of you girl Great job cutting down. I had a wonderful time chatting. I am sorry I couldn't stay longer. hugs, Cira

Thanks everyone for your support and advice. I think it might be a problem with the welbitrin since I already take 200mg of zoloft. It might counter act but I will talk to my pcp about that other one. But I might even be able to do it cold turkey if I just keep reminding myself why I am quitting. I want this surgery soooooo bad I can almost taste it!!!!!!! Lol I hope everyone had a great day. Me I helped bf shovel snow. Yes he shoveled but had trouble breathing a little but he needs the excercise. Tammy
